The Story

About This Place

Perched on the 77th floor of Landmark 81—Vietnam's tallest building—Ussina Aging Beef & Bar occupies one of the most dramatic dining rooms in Ho Chi Minh City. The windows frame a complete sweep of the Saigon skyline, a view that shifts from sunlit haze at lunch to glittering city lights after dark. Pre-booking is strongly advised; last-minute walk-ins report scoring the final table only by luck.

The kitchen leans into Japanese beef culture: aged cuts and wagyu grills are the centrepiece, alongside seafood spaghetti and risotto that draw from an Italian-leaning side of the menu. Starters like gyoza and camembert suggest a kitchen confident enough to range beyond a single tradition. Dishes arrive carefully explained by staff who consistently earn praise for attentiveness without being overbearing—a balance that elevates dinner from a meal to an occasion.

Thursday evenings carry an added incentive: a ladies' night promotion includes a complimentary cocktail (valued at VND 260,000) and live band performances, making it a natural anchor for date nights or small celebrations. Guests report that a full dinner with drinks lands around VND 1.4 million per head—notable value given the floor, the food quality, and the service calibre.

One honest note from regulars: the interior shows its age. Floors and walls carry visible wear that the views more than compensate for, but worth setting expectations before arrival. That aside, Ussina draws a crowd that returns—for the wagyu, the nightscape, and the occasional free cocktail at 77 floors above street level.

⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ (2/5) Ussina Aging Beef & Bar sits on the 77th floor of Landmark 81, offering truly spectacular panoramic views of Ho Chi Minh City. The atmosphere is elegant and makes it a beautiful place for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the food and overall dining experience did not live up to the premium prices. We ordered several dishes, including the lobster, A5 Wagyu, appetizers, seafood, desserts, and drinks. The lobster was ordinary and nothing memorable. The biggest disappointment was the A5 Wagyu. It was chewy and lacked the rich, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture that authentic A5 Wagyu is known for. We have enjoyed genuine A5 Wagyu in both the United States and Japan, and even when we’ve cooked A5 Wagyu at home, it was far more tender and flavorful than what was served here. If this was truly A5 Wagyu, it certainly wasn’t prepared in a way that showcased its quality. The drinks were also underwhelming for a restaurant at this level. Small details matter in fine dining, and even the utensils could use improvement. One thing that also surprised us was the lack of flexibility. We politely asked if the fish roe could be served on the side or omitted, but the request was refused. For a restaurant positioning itself as a luxury dining destination, we expected a greater willingness to accommodate simple customer preferences. Our main server was the highlight of the evening. He was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely tried to make our dining experience enjoyable. We truly appreciate his excellent service. The supporting staff were polite, but they would benefit from additional training in fine dining standards. Nearly all of our dishes were brought to the table at once, causing several items to become cold before we had the chance to enjoy them. Overall, while the breathtaking view is worth seeing, the food quality, service execution, and overall experience did not justify the high prices. If you’re visiting mainly for the incredible skyline, we recommend stopping by for a drink or coffee on the 77th floor instead of spending a significant amount on dinner. We sincerely thank our main server for his kindness and professionalism, but unfortunately, the overall experience fell well short of the luxury dining experience we were expecting.

Amazing view, exceptional food, and world-class service. This is truly the best dining experience in Ho Chi Minh City. A special shout out to the restaurant manager, Iris, and her team for going above and beyond to make our night unforgettable. Her professionalism and attentiveness were outstanding. Will definitely bring my family back next time!

On paper the restaurant is amazing but for some reason I just didn't really vibe here. Immaculate presentation and atmosphere high up in Landmark 81. But to be honest the steak was just ok. For the price I expected to be blown away. But it was just ok

Amazing wagyu! Staff were all very friendly and helpful to share the different items on the menu. The food options are a little pricey. All tables have a very good panoramic view of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam🇻🇳 . Overall an enjoyable experience👍 worth the price paid.

This restaurant offers a truly memorable dining experience. The dry-aged beef is outstanding—tender, rich in flavor, and perfectly cooked, bringing out its natural sweetness. The ambiance is elegant with a beautiful view, creating a perfect balance between cozy and upscale. What really stands out is the service: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Definitely a place worth coming back to if you’re looking for high-quality steak in a great setting.
