The Story

About This Place

Heli Beer Garden occupies a rooftop position on Tân Cảng with an unobstructed sightline to Landmark 81, Vietnam's tallest tower, which dominates the skyline directly in front of every table. The venue opens at 4 PM daily and runs to midnight, making it a strictly evening destination — one that draws office groups, birthday parties, and anyone who wants a dramatic urban backdrop without crossing into District 1. A live band performs regularly alongside a DJ, and the volume reflects the venue's priorities: this is a place built for noise and celebration rather than conversation. Food runs toward crowd-friendly formats — seafood sets, fried rice with beef pickles, french fries, boiled vegetables — competent and well-suited to large tables ordering in rounds. The 4.8 rating across more than 1,700 reviews reflects consistent satisfaction with the experience as a whole, even if individual dishes don't stand out on their own. The space is genuinely open-air, which makes Saigon's warm evenings feel like a feature rather than a nuisance. Among Thao Dien's rooftop options, Heli Beer Garden's proximity to Landmark 81 is its clearest differentiator — other rooftops in the area offer greenery or canal views, but none put that particular tower as close or as central. Reviewers occasionally note the beer supply running short during busy nights, which speaks to the volume of crowds the venue regularly handles.

A place at the rooftop where you can enjoy a meal with drinks and have a view of the building landmark 81. Food wise nothing to impress me.

It's beer place. Fist of all, it was too noisy. Volume of the music was too loud to hear the voice from the right next to me. If it's bar on Vui Bien, then it's ok but... Anyway it's for the party people who just dance and make a noise without talking. And the staff at restaurant was taking photos of customes, so they may use your photo for somewhere. Foods were ok, not bad, but the value for the price was not good. Once again, this is not the place to eat, this is the place where you drink, make noise and dance. Unfortunately I'm not such a person, so I won't come back, but I understand that some people may like this kind of place. And I think this kind of restaurant who make noise a lot will be disappeared someday (Karaoke in town turned to illegal now), so may be better to try once before.
