The Story

About This Place

Thai Street sits on Trần Ngọc Diện and draws a steady crowd — 530 Google reviews at 4.3 stars is the kind of track record that builds on repeat visitors rather than novelty. The menu reads like a well-edited tour through Thai grilling and curry house classics, without veering into fusion or approximation. Satay comes in both chicken and pork versions, marinated and served with peanut sauce, and the Gai Yang — barbecue chicken with sweet chili, spicy-sour sauce, and sticky rice — is the kind of dish that anchors a meal. Fried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves offers something less common on Thao Dien menus, with the aromatic leaf lending a subtle herbal quality to the crust.

The curry section covers serious ground: green, red, panang, and massaman across chicken, pork, and beef. That range means a table of four can order differently and still eat cohesively. Massaman, the slower-cooked, nut-spiced style, sits alongside the brighter heat of panang — both worth noting for anyone who defaults to the same curry every time.

In a neighborhood where Thai options often skew toward upmarket set menus or hotel-adjacent dining, Thai Street operates at a more everyday register. The hours run 11 AM to 10 PM daily, making it practical for both lunch and dinner without requiring a reservation window. For expats and residents looking for consistent Thai cooking — grilled, curried, and priced for regular visits — it fills a gap that Thao Dien's more tourist-facing spots leave open.

The restaurant has a fun street food look and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had vegan spring rolls, pad Thai and red curry. The servings were huge and everything was full of flavour. We could not finish it all but really wanted to. It is definitely a bit more expensive than other places but it was worth it and I would still recommend it.

Very interesting place where you can feel Bangkok. Friendly and cozy space. Ms. Anh is very helpful and supportive staff. Must try: combo of Som Tam (green papaya salad), Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup with rice, Thai red milk tea.

Very nice Thai restaurant inside a restaurant compound area. Attentive and friendly servers, decent variety of Thai food and the pad thai feels authentic. Most of the dishes we had were quite filling and flavorful. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is nice for a date or other occasions. One small perk is that you are inside a food area with several other cuisine restaurants in case someone in you group wants something different from Thai.
