Got a char siu tonkotsu ramen, with light broth and soft noodle. The char siu is very tasty, the egg done just right. Very satisfied with how each detail of the ramen was done perfectly. I've tried all the ramen shops in Thảo Điền (many charge double or triple the price) and this little streetside stall definitely delivers value for the money.

SATO RAMEN - Japanese restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Sato Ramen occupies a spot inside BloQ, the mixed-use development on Trần Ngọc Diện that has quietly become one of Thao Dien's more walkable dining strips. The kitchen runs a dinner-only schedule — doors open at 4 PM and close at 10:30 PM every day of the week, making it a reliable option for the neighborhood's evening crowd without the weekend-only limitations common to smaller Japanese concepts in the area.
The name signals a singular focus: ramen, in the Japanese tradition. Thao Dien has no shortage of pan-Asian restaurants, but dedicated ramen shops remain a shorter list, and Sato's consistent 4.3 rating across its early reviews suggests the kitchen is executing the basics well. The evening-only hours also shape who shows up — this draws residents finishing work, couples looking for a low-key dinner, and expats with a craving for something closer to a Tokyo neighborhood bowl than the fusion interpretations more common elsewhere in the district.
The BloQ address puts it within easy reach of the An Phú residential cluster and the Trần Ngọc Diện restaurant corridor, making it a natural stop before or after other nearby venues. For visitors staying or living east of the Saigon River, it fills a gap between the heavier izakaya-style spots downtown and the more casual noodle shops scattered through District 2's side streets.
Reviews
Like in Japan ! Very good food ! Come here it’s a must!
I wouldn't call this a ramen. :( Looks like it, but tastes very diluted.
Wanted to get Grab, but then I saw this nice cozy place on the side of the street. Could not help myself! A lot of nice beverage on the menu! Ramen is available later but the beverages are on point too! The male *chef* is ultra kind and polite. Tea on the house while waiting for my coconut avocado drink!not too thick not too sweet with a crunch of dried coconut meat. Good balance. Can I have another one?🤣 only 40K
If you like authentic Japanese ramen this is the place to go ! Very tasty ramen and loved the fried chicken too ! Very reasonably priced and the owner super friendly . Will be back again for sure
