Pretty high end sushi in the Thao Dien area. Interior has a nice dark vibe spacious vibe. Staff was attentive and food was solid.

I would rate my experience at Yen Japanese Restaurant on Xuan Thuy with four stars. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, but there are still a few areas that could be improved. First of all, the restaurant itself is very spacious, clean, and well-decorated. The seating is comfortable, and even during busy hours it never felt cramped. This makes it a good spot not only for casual meals with friends but also for family gatherings or even business dinners. The atmosphere strikes a balance between lively and relaxed, giving diners the feeling that they can enjoy their food without being rushed. The service was also quite good. The staff were polite and responsive, making sure that dishes arrived in a timely manner and that we had everything we needed. They were professional yet friendly, which made the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable. As for the food, the menu offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes, ranging from sushi and sashimi to ramen, tempura, and grilled specialties. The portions were reasonable, and the ingredients tasted fresh. While the flavors may not be the absolute best Japanese cuisine I have tried, the dishes were still satisfying and well-prepared. The only real disappointment for me was that the restaurant does not have a dedicated vegetarian or vegan menu. For people who don’t eat meat or seafood, the options are quite limited, and this can be inconvenient when dining in a group. It would definitely elevate the dining experience if the restaurant introduced more plant-based dishes. In short, Yen on Xuan Thuy is a reliable and enjoyable Japanese restaurant. With its spacious setting, good service, and tasty menu, it is worth a visit. Adding more vegetarian options would easily make it a five-star place

I was really looking forward to trying YEN Sushi & SakePub in Thảo Điền. The restaurant itself is beautiful—great decor, modern with a cozy vibe, and the ambiance is definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience didn’t live up to the setting. While some dishes were decent, one came out overcooked, and the sukiyaki broth was overly sweet. Service was very slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t full. Food came out slowly with long gaps in between, and for a table that ordered quite a bit, we felt frustrating to sit waiting with an empty table. We were also served a Junmai Dai Ginjo sake at room temperature when we ordered chill, and when we asked, we were told all sake and white wine are stored room temperature and chilled with ice only after ordering—which really isn’t ideal for premium bottles and also white wine. With everything considered—slow service, off flavors, and some poorly handled details—this visit was a letdown. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Great design and food. It was too loud since 10+ kids were celebrating a birthday. I think that the management should have asked them to behave better, since it was impossible to talk to each other because of them. The waiter was unprofessional or too tired. They have a very convenient digital menu, but it didn’t helped, he included some staff we didn’t order. Overall good experience, will definitely come back
