How dare you sell a croissant for 125k that is small and most of all not fresh… heating it up masks the fact that it’s from yesterday even more. Upping the price because of the use of aop French butter, and then offering this quality. Really not ok. One time, never a second.
UGO CAFÉ - Coffee shop in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
UGO CAFÉ sits on a quiet street in Thao Dien, open from 6 AM daily — early enough for the neighborhood's expat and local crowd to start the morning right. The focus is on quality over volume: Japanese-sourced matcha and 100% Arabica beans form the backbone of the menu, and the care that goes into each drink shows in the latte art and silky-smooth texture that regulars consistently note.
The matcha program stands apart in a district where specialty coffee tends to dominate. Served with oat milk and calibrated to let the matcha come through without bitterness, it has converted more than a few visitors who arrived expecting to order coffee. The croissants — made with AOP French butter — pair alongside the drinks for a full morning stop.
What distinguishes the café beyond its drinks is the warmth of its staff. Cutting a fresh flower and presenting it to guests is a recurring gesture — two separate reviews mention it happening independently, once to a wife, once to a mother — which reflects the consistency of the approach rather than a single performance.
The outdoor seating is compact and unhurried, suited to a long morning rather than a quick stop. For a neighborhood that has no shortage of design-conscious cafés, UGO CAFÉ's pull is simpler: precise drinks, attentive service, and a pace that accommodates lingering. The crowd skews toward expat regulars and travelers passing through Thao Dien who stop in on a recommendation and end up returning on the next visit.
Reviews
The seating is very comfortable, the latte is excellent, and the staff are warm and attentive. Highly recommended when visiting Thao Dien 💕
Great coffee and the sweetest lady who never fail to greet us with a smile! Great vibe!
We were in the mood for something sweet and happened upon this place. We just got some milk tea, but the staff was really sweet (so I guess we found what we were looking 🤣). They even cut a fresh flower and gave it to my wife. We didn't get to try the coffee , but will be back to do that. I should also mention that they have a chill outdoor seating area setup if you're looking for that vibe.
It was the most comfortable cafe to visit in Vietnam. The coffee smell and taste are the best, too. If you travel in Vietnam, feel relaxed here. The bread is really delicious, too. The atmosphere is really good, too. Please come. Please come. Just once.
