Always thought of visiting this place as it looks quite inviting, and I took my chance today which was every worth of my decision. The drinks we ordered were nice but what we loved was their deserts. We ordered watermelon cake & lemon olive oil cake, both were in their flavours!! The ambience was very relaxing, kind of Bali vibe in the bustle of HCM. The staff were pleasant & welcoming!! Must try their deserts!!

No Honey, No Monkey - Cafe in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
From the team behind Layla, Summer Experiment, and The WKND, No Honey No Monkey occupies a two-level space on Đường Số 10 in An Khánh, Thao Dien, with rooftop terrace seating above and a lush, plant-filled interior below. The concept spans the full day: quality coffee and pastries through the morning give way to an experimental cocktail program by evening, built around a bar setup that regulars have compared to a chemistry lab. The spirits list is broad, the recipes technically grounded and well-balanced, and the dessert menu — watermelon cake and lemon olive oil cake among the current offerings — generates its own following separate from the drinks program.
The atmosphere leans tropical: dense greenery, warm lighting, and a carefully chosen playlist give the space a Bali-inflected feel that sits at odds with the surrounding urban density of District 2. Service is consistently noted as attentive and genuinely welcoming, a detail that registers across the 208 five-star Google reviews the venue has accumulated.
For the Thao Dien crowd, the all-day format is the clearest differentiator — it functions as a morning coffee stop, a mid-afternoon work perch, and a destination cocktail bar without switching gears between each. The creative pedigree behind the bar means the cocktail menu trends experimental without becoming inaccessible, drawing both locals and expats who want something more considered than the neighborhood's standard rooftop fare. Small plates and snacks round out the offering, making it a workable dinner option for groups willing to graze rather than sit to a full menu.
Reviews
I'm leaving a long overdue review for this place as I've been here several times now and I'm always impressed. I've been for cocktails and snacks at night and coffee in the morning and I can honestly say this place has it all covered! Beverages are top notch and the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is so nice with all the greenery. My friends also love the food -- I'm usually drinking my whole bill here but I will make it a point to try the food soon. Great concept -- so happy it's a part of the neighborhood!
Our waiter was so sweet! Gorgeous atmosphere and setting, loved the rooftop bar seating and downstairs is beautiful too. We enjoyed our drinks and yummy pastry. Definitely try it out you're in the area.
A beautiful new place has opened up right in our neighborhood and we really enjoyed it. The drinks were great and the snacks were also very delicious. Nice atmosphere, attentive service, and overall a lovely experience. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely worth the visit, their cocktails are easily the best by miles. Behind the bar it looks like a chemistry lab, these guys know what they are doing and you can taste it! They have a wide selection of spirits, very good food and tons of options.
