The Story

About This Place

On a residential side street off Thao Dien's main drag, Lost & Sought operates at a pace entirely its own. The menu is short and deliberate: espresso-based drinks pulled with obvious care, a rotating case of house-baked goods, and a few standout originals like the Aerocano and Coco Matcha that have quietly built a loyal following. The cinnamon rolls arrive soft and coiled, not the dense, over-iced kind found at chain bakeries — closer to something a skilled home baker might produce on a Sunday. The Shio Pan, a Japanese-style salt bread, disappears fast enough that timing matters. On the coffee side, both the flat white and the decaf options draw repeat visitors who notice the difference between thoughtfully sourced beans and commodity blends. Oat milk is handled well here, which is not always the case.

The terrace catches a breeze most mornings, and the background music stays low enough to hold a conversation or open a laptop. Owners Ben and Sara are frequently present, which accounts for the consistency regulars describe — a rare thing in a neighborhood where cafes turn over quickly and quality drifts once the opening buzz fades. The 5.0 rating across 268 Google reviews is an unusual signal in a city where most well-regarded spots settle somewhere in the mid-fours. Lost & Sought draws a mix of expats who've made it a daily ritual, tourists who stumbled onto it via search, and locals willing to cross districts for a reliable flat white. It is closed Tuesdays. Arrive before 10 AM on weekends if the cinnamon rolls are the reason for the trip.

I’m actually addicted to Lost and Sought. I’m staying at the hotel next door, and since day one of arriving in Ho Chi Minh, I’ve been coming here constantly. The coffee is consistently good — strong, smooth, just done right. And the baked goods? Homemade and dangerous. I keep telling myself I’ll skip it, and then I’m back again. I love sitting out on the terrace with a coffee, breeze coming through, music playing in the background. It’s such a nice little reset from the chaos of the city. The team is genuinely friendly and warm, which makes the whole place feel even better. If you’re nearby, go. Just know you might end up going every day.

Lost & Sought in Saigon delivers exceptional coffee and bakery treats in a cozy Thao Dien setting. This artisan bakery cafe in Ho Chi Minh City stands out with its handcrafted brews and daily-baked goods. The flat white is perfectly served, with silky microfoam in charming crockery that elevates the experience. Ideal for coffee lovers seeking the best flat white in Saigon, this specialty coffee shines with balanced espresso and velvety oat milk. Try the fresh cinnamon bun at this Saigon bakery—warm, gooey, and packed with flavor for an irresistible treat. The focaccia is equally tasty, fluffy yet crisp. Coffee is the big winner at Lost & Sought Saigon, with very very good handcrafted options that rival top cafes in District 2. From flat whites to other brews, this bakery cafe's coffee menu draws in enthusiasts exploring the best coffee shops in Saigon. Big bonus: they also have the cutest grumpy cat just lingering around.

“Cinnamon rolls near me” was my best Google search when in HCM. Once I hit “enter”, I found this absolutely stellar hidden gem down an unsuspecting side street where I was greeted by Ben, who was incredibly lovely, and my cinnamon roll craving was beyond satisfied. Not only that, but even as a coffee-hater (crazy, I know) I knew I had to try some viatnamese coffee before heading home. I never go out of my way to order coffee, and just like the cinnamon rolls, wow. My only regret is not ordering more. I learned that all the baked goods are made fresh every morning by Ben’s girlfriend, and her love for baking really shines through. I really wish I had bought a loaf of the fresh sourdough! Thank you for making one of my last stops in Vietnam so memorable and hospitable. I hope to see you again someday - either in the states or Vietnam, and your girlfriend, so I can thank her for the best cinnamon rolls ever!🫶🏻

I discovered this hidden gem by chance a year ago while looking for a coffee near my hair salon. From the first latte, I fell in love with the high-quality, handcrafted coffee at Lost & Sought. After drinking so much commercial coffee elsewhere, it’s easy to recognize the difference here. I don’t live nearby, so I usually come on holidays to enjoy a quiet moment with good coffee. I could feel the passion of the two young owners in IG and knew this place would be recognized one day—though I secretly hoped it would stay hidden a bit longer 😂 Coming back this morning, I’m happy to see Lost & Sought growing and gaining the recognition it deserves. Congratulations ☕✨

Food: I ordered Cranberry Cheesecake and it was amazing, not too sweet and very soft inside. I had matcha latte for drink. Service was great, they gave suggestions, best sellers and answered our questions in English. Atmosphere: It is very chill, not to noisy and relaxing, accompanied by soft music on the background. I would love to come back.
