Starbucks Thao Dien - Coffee shop in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
The Thao Dien branch sits on the main strip of Thảo Điền street and draws a steady crowd of expats, regulars, and locals who return often enough that the baristas have memorized their orders by name. That personal touch — unusual for a chain of this scale — explains much of the loyalty this particular location inspires, with multiple longtime customers noting that staff track not just their drink but their exact customizations.
The space divides between an air-conditioned interior and outdoor tables, giving it range across different moods and weather. Morning regulars filter in from 6:30 AM, a number of them pre- or post-training at Primal gym just up the street. The security guard has become something of a local character in his own right, remembered by reviewers for wiping down motorcycles before returning them — a small gesture that registers.
Beyond the global Starbucks lineup of Cold Brew, Lattes, and Strawberry Acai Refreshers, the location carries Vietnam-exclusive items: the Purple Taro Rainbow Croissant, a Kumquat & Lemongrass Chicken Bun, and a Teriyaki Pork Bun with Radish Slaw that give even frequent visitors something new to try. The merch section is reliably stocked, which matters to collectors chasing seasonal Starbucks releases.
The atmosphere skews social and occasionally loud — the music level drew at least one complaint — but outdoor seating absorbs some of that energy. For solo work sessions, the indoor space is quiet enough during off-peak hours. Against other Thao Dien coffee options, this branch competes less on novelty and more on reliability: consistent drinks, long hours, easy parking, and a team that makes regulars feel known.
Reviews
friendly staffs, the music should be a bit lower cuz it makes the space too noisy
A really great experience with my wife when 2 nice staff served our with cute glass of water when we were ordering drinks , must visit place when you travel around Thao Dien and looking for starbuck
first time to go there. I enjoy the brand new drink (the picture uploaded) with my girlfriend. The coffee shop is spacious and quiet. The place is suitable for a small group of people talking together or people who want to work
I go every day for two coffees — one for my wife, one for me, before my training at Primal (which is just up the street). The staff are awesome, always trying to remember my order (which is impressive because I barely remember it myself). Sometimes they get it wrong, but that’s okay, because I make mistakes too (my wife hits me in the face if I order the wrong coffee for her). Love this place!
