Absolutely fantastic in every way. Came here the first day of arriving in Vietnam and after travelling across the country, came back again on the last day just before flying home as had been thinking about it the whole trip. The aubergine tomato and cheese pasta is the best vegan pasta I've ever had. Ate it alongside a pesto and cheese panini And finally some reasonably priced but very good white wine. Ended up then ordering the salted caramel kashew desert even though I'm not a desert person and it was the perfect round off.So indulgent but worth every penny, people who have marked this is one or two stars and said it's delicious, but then that it's too expensive needs to check themselves. This isn't typical Vietnamese food which is super cheap to make and produce, this is artisan food crafted with a lot specialist, ingredients and love. You get what you pay for. Can't recommend highly enough.

Kashew Cheese Deli - Vegan restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Kashew Cheese Deli sits inside a shaded courtyard complex on Trần Ngọc Diện, a residential strip in Thảo Điền where the usual Saigon noise largely falls away. The operational logic here is unusual: nearly everything served — the cashew-based cheeses, the pestos, the breads, the kombucha, the house beer — is produced on-site, with no outsourcing of the components that define the flavour.
The food earns its 4.7-star average through specificity rather than volume. The aubergine, tomato and cheese pasta is the dish most likely to prompt a return visit on the final day of a trip. The pesto panini comes on wholemeal bread baked in-house, layered with cashew mozzarella and house-pressed pesto. The cheese and chutney sandwich — caramelized onions, sun-dried tomatoes, house cheese — rewards attention. A rotating cheese board, a tri-colored panini, and a pizza that sells out before early afternoon round out the savoury options. The salted caramel cashew dessert regularly surprises people who do not consider themselves dessert eaters.
The terrace draws a consistent mix: long-stay expats, plant-based travellers who have spent a week eating cautiously across Vietnam and arrived here relieved, and omnivores who find themselves ordering more than planned. The courtyard setting keeps the energy calm even at capacity — there is outdoor greenery, no through-traffic, and enough space between tables to make a slow two-hour lunch feel unrushed.
What sets this apart from the broader Thảo Điền café scene is the depth of production. The kitchen is fermenting, pressing, and baking the foundational ingredients rather than assembling sourced components. That level of control shows up in the consistency of flavour and in details — the crumb of the bread, the acidity of the kombucha — that are difficult to find elsewhere in the neighbourhood. Accessible via metro: a short walk from Thảo Điền station on Line 1.

Love it here, came twice so far in our five days stay, may come once more. (We are chasing the pizza which is sold out early) The food is great, amazing vegan cheeses. Honestly some of the best I've eating in my 6 year career as a vegan. Wow. What a gem. We got the cheese board and two sandwiches so far...the pesto panini and the tri colored panini. Take the train, its a short walk from the station.
I had a chill afternoon here. The outdoor seating area is very pleasant, very peaceful. The cheese they put in my salad was enjoyable, and somewhat unique, in terms of texture and taste. I think I will come back here next time I'm in Saigon.
KASHEW is in a chilled cute lush outdoor plaza with delicious vegan panini, banh mi pizza etc. You will love this spot I guarantee it. They make their own cheeses, pesto, breads and sauces. Too many good things to share abt this place. You must visit for your yourself. BY FAR THIS IS MY FAVORITE SPOT IN SAIGON!!
I had a great morning with, with a very comfortable outdoor space, separating me from the noise and rush of Saigon. They make cheese from real things, so they eat very lightly and without indigestion, I wish this place could open earlier because 9am just starts breakfast, it's a bit late. The space is located in a complex and it is absolutely perfect. Recommended
