Excellent food and drink, so many options. The curry is flavory and the pork skewers were my favorite. Will come back here again for sure!

Chilli Thái Vincom Thảo Điền - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Chilli Thái occupies a compact space on the ground floor of Vincom Thao Dien, the neighborhood mall on Võ Nguyên Giáp, putting it squarely in the path of shoppers and expat families looking for a sit-down meal without crossing the district. The Tom Yum arrives with a pronounced hit of lemon and chili — reviewers note it as genuinely spicy and tangy rather than the diluted versions common at Vietnamese-run Thai chains. The Moo Ping, grilled pork skewers marinated in the street-food style, consistently draws the most praise: tender, well-seasoned, and easy to share across a table. Pad Thai and White Fish Soup round out the dependable Thai standards, while the kitchen also runs a wider steamed seafood menu — whole fish with lemongrass and coriander, perch in soy sauce — that leans more Chinese-Vietnamese than strictly Thai. A crispy fried chicken skin with salted egg yolk has become a standalone draw. The curry section skews mild enough for most palates, though a handful of dishes carry real heat that can catch younger diners off guard. Music volume is a recurring topic in reviews: the dining room runs loud, which suits larger groups but makes quiet conversation difficult. Service draws mixed notes — staff efficiency gets credit, but the atmosphere behind the counter can feel indifferent on off-peak visits. Pricing sits a notch above casual street-food Thai, which some guests flag given portion sizes on dishes like fried rice. Within Vincom Thao Dien itself, it remains one of the few kitchens with a full Thai menu and consistent output across 359 reviews, which explains the steady repeat traffic from the surrounding residential streets.

Reviews
I have tried Thai food before went to Chili Thai last week first time. Because they are located in Vincom so their space is not too big to have a comfortable for us. The food is nice to try. Some highlight dishes are Pad Thai, White Fish Soup. But the drink - the peach tea is not good, the peach is overripe (look pic below). The service I think so so. Some waiters show their serious face, yeah make me uncomfortable to enjoy the atmosphere here.
The food was not up to par. Not even near any Thai cooking. Service staff were taking selfie and chatting away. Vege with fried pork was too dry. Curry crab meat was salty and only ladden with eggs no crab meat to be seen. Braised pork knuckle ok. Red curry chicken too sweet. Dont waste time coming here

Food is fresh and so delicious! It’s not too sweet like other Thai places. Staff friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.
