The Story

About This Place

Bibouyo occupies a generous footprint on Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, its high ceilings and painting-covered walls making the space feel closer to a gallery than a neighborhood cafe. The layout is deliberate — tables are spaced wide apart, soft lighting falls at angles that flatter both the artwork and the people beneath it, and the background music stays low enough not to intrude on a laptop session or a book.

The drinks are a secondary draw that quietly earn repeat visits. The coconut latte has won over guests who arrived expecting only serviceable coffee, and the matcha holds up on its own terms — smooth and properly prepared, rather than treated as an afterthought to the aesthetic. The food menu is limited, and certain pastry options are not always available, so the cafe is best approached as a drink-and-linger destination rather than a meal stop.

What separates Bibouyo from the cluster of design-forward cafes concentrated around Thao Dien is the programming side. The space actively hosts cultural events and an ongoing artist residency, which means the exhibitions rotate and the mood of the room shifts depending on the week. On a quiet weekday morning it draws freelancers and people reading; when an event is scheduled, the space reorganizes for standing conversations and a different kind of crowd entirely. The workshop area built into the layout signals that the venue is designed for participation, not just passive appreciation of the walls.

The street outside floods easily after heavy rain, worth factoring into afternoon visits during the wet season. No dedicated parking. Open daily 8 AM to 6 PM.

nice place though the street floods really easily and quite badly. comfortable seating but expensive. also, doesn’t always have the pasteurise they offer, which sucks, since the food menu is already limited…

It's a spacious place brimming with paintings. The layout is very stylish, and they even have a workshop area. I honestly didn't expect the drinks to be good, but the coconut latte was a delightful surprise and truly captured my heart. Highly recommended!

I visited Bibouyo Café and really loved the vibe. It’s not just a normal coffee shop, it feels like an art space where every corner has its own character, warm and a little nostalgic. The atmosphere is super calming, with soft music, gentle lighting, and vintage touches that make you want to slow down and stay awhile. It’s a great place to read, catch up with friends, or just enjoy some quiet time. The matcha is genuinely great too, definitely coming back.
