HÔM - Coffee shop in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
HÔM sits on a quiet stretch of Trần Ngọc Diện, a café built around the idea of a familiar return — staff greet guests with 'welcome home' at the door, and the space earns that framing through its detail and care.
The interior is a composed arrangement of sofas, artistically curated menus, and a vinyl record player that the owner operates personally when present. On the right afternoon, a guest can settle beside the turntable and have records selected and played for them, turning a coffee stop into something more deliberate. That level of curation separates HÔM from the more anonymous café formats that have multiplied across Thao Dien.
The drink menu runs creative. The matcha pistachio strawberry has brought people back on its own merits, and the coffee selection offers enough range that regulars rarely land on the same order twice. The donuts — rich and flavorful rather than insubstantial — pair well with the house coffee and have become a steady afternoon fixture.
The crowd skews young, and the energy reflects that: tables tend to fill, there is steady background noise, and the general sense is of people settling in rather than passing through. Families also visit, particularly on weekends when the café stays open until 10 PM. Staff warmth is a consistent thread through the reviews — one guest specifically named a team member by name for attentiveness, a distinction that registers in a neighborhood with no shortage of options.
The space works for solo reading, focused work, or low-key gatherings. It draws from the expat and local creative communities that concentrate in this part of District 2, and its vinyl afternoons give it a character that most nearby cafés do not attempt.
Reviews
This cafe is very cute and cozy. The staff greet you with a warm 'welcome home!' The donuts and coffee were both rich and flavorful. Great place to cool off with a book.
Came here for tea time with my family, and got the seating area beside the vinyl player. The owner was around and he played for us some of the records. Sitting on the sofa and enjoying the vibes, the music in such an ambience is definitely what you should do here. The staffs we interacted with were friendly. The menu and interior here were curated artistically and wonderfully. There were multiple drinks on the menu that I wanted to order as they look and sounded really tasty. We ordered the yuzu salted buble, milk tea and Midori lime Japanese donut. The drinks were not overly sweet and it’s a solid choice if you’re a person that does not like overly sweetened drinks. All in all, the experience , service and interaction was impeccable. The price is standard and definitely worth it. Thank you to the owner for providing us with an amazing experience.
I'd like to give an update: The establishment has commented on my post and clarified the situation. They were respectful with the response (see below). I hope the VietNam ends the practice of caging birds as a form of entertainment or tradition. I was enjoying my time outside the yard of the café because I could hear birds chirping, but then I realized there were more than 6 caged birds outside the café 🤢 PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT establishments that cages animals just to stage an experience. If you want bird chirping plant more trees instead of putting them in a cage.
Amazing matcha café in Thao Dien. So peaceful and cosy. The matcha pistachio strawberry was very delicious. Will definitely go back to read and relax.
