Pistachio pasta was definitely a good dish. Steak was missing flavor. Carrot cake was very fresh and a safe pick. Service was really good.

I HATE MONDAY DINING - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
The concept is right there in the name, and the restaurant commits to it fully — a space built around an aesthetic that rewards attention. Located on a narrow lane off the main Thao Dien strip, I Hate Monday Dining pulls in couples and small groups who arrive as much for the setting as the food. The interior is deliberately styled for photography, with the detail extending to the bathrooms, a recurring point of surprise in guest accounts that the kitchen seemingly can't outshine.
The menu sits in European bistro territory. Pistachio pasta is the most consistently mentioned dish — ordered deliberately, not stumbled upon — and it delivers. Risotto earns strong marks, the chicken cutlet with cheese has been called a standout by repeat visitors, and the carrot cake makes a dependable dessert. Non-alcoholic drinks are well-regarded, a quiet asset in a neighborhood where wine lists tend to dominate. Portions are generous, particularly the pasta, though pricing sits above the Thao Dien median, which surfaces in reviews from guests weighing value against atmosphere.
Service moves quickly without feeling perfunctory — a combination that keeps the room flowing during busy weekend hours. A private room seating around eight makes it a practical option for birthday dinners, rare on this stretch where most venues run open-plan or terrace-heavy.
For anyone arriving by car on weekends, the lane narrows significantly at peak times and parking is a genuine consideration. The 4.7-star average across 2,187 Google reviews suggests the tradeoff lands well for most: a design-forward European menu in a space that photographs cleanly, without crossing the river for it.
Reviews
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming, making the whole dining experience very pleasant. The space is well-organized, clean, and thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable setting to enjoy a meal.
We visited I Hate Monday in Saigon with my boyfriend and had an amazing time. The risotto was delicious and the chicken cutlet with cheese was absolutely perfect. The non-alcoholic drinks were great as well. We will definitely come back!
Food very nice with fair price. Lovely environment where you can take a bunch of funny photos. Even the toilet is full or surprises🤣. Friendly staffs, will definitely come back.
Food was fine. The portion is proper, but i still find the price range is pretty high overall. Ideal for dinner with friends.
