PASTA CLUB Not so Italian - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
The sign says 'Not so Italian' and Pasta Club's menu backs that up — tomyum pasta sits alongside carbonara tagliatelles and a pork jowl risotto that reviewers keep singling out as the standout of the entire menu. The restaurant occupies the former Tinto space on Trần Ngọc Diện, a spot that built a loyal following first as fusion Japanese and now draws much of the same crowd back for its Italian-leaning evolution.
The room connects indoors and out, so diners seated inside still catch the energy of the street without the full heat. When the house is full — which happens regularly given the 4.7-star average across nearly 600 reviews — the noise level climbs, but the space handles it comfortably. Staff are a consistent thread in reviews: attentive without hovering, and known to bring complimentary desserts and drinks for occasions worth marking, from Women's Day dinners to Valentine's tables.
The pork jowl risotto is the dish most worth ordering: the cut, the spicing, and the texture come together in a way that surprises even diners who arrived skeptical. Lobster pasta and a steak round out the heavier end of the menu, while the tomyum pasta signals that the kitchen treats 'Italian' as a loose brief rather than a strict rulebook.
Hours run 4 PM to midnight every day, making this an evening destination rather than an all-day café — better suited to a slow dinner than a quick lunch. That schedule, combined with warm lighting and a room that fills up reliably on weekends, makes it a natural fit for a date dinner or a small group with something to celebrate in Thao Dien.
Reviews
This is best Italian Res i have ever experienced. Nice environment with excellent foods. Highly recommend tomyum pasta. The staffs serve me Valentine’s desert for free ✨
- Good food, fresh overall, except for the salmon pasta - The staff are attentive, caring - Drinks are good - Lighting is well done - A bit noisy but acceptable
Not so italian but not that far. Former Tinto turned into fusion italian. And it s really nice. Same former cosy place. Excellent and super focused and friendly staff for very yummy dishes. We had excellent pizza, super lobster pasta, carbonara tagliatelles (which could be a but more tasty). Desert were excellent. We will come back
The restaurant’s steak is quite delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, with a classic style mixed with a touch of modern design. This is a highly recommended place for everyone to come and enjoy the experience. The prices are reasonable. Staff so friendly :)
