Garden Kisses has built a specific identity on Nguyễn Bá Huân as the cinnamon roll specialist of Thao Dien, with a roster of flavor combinations that goes well beyond the standard. The Cici Signature comes with pistachio and burnt caramel glaze; elsewhere on the menu, miso caramel pecan, matcha black sesame with Uji cream, apple pie with candied orange peel, and a savory cheesy chicken floss version represent the range. All rolls are served warm, which makes a real difference in texture and is not something every bakery bothers with.
The croissants are serious—plain and pain au chocolat with proper lamination, a Vanilla Flan Croissant with house-made pineapple jam, and a Jey Bun stuffed with pulled pork, cheddar, and hot honey on croissant dough. The soft cream cheese cookies have developed a loyal following among regulars who place them among the best in the city, even though first-time visitors tend to arrive focused on the buns.
The matcha program is equally deliberate. Drinks are hand-whisked to order, staff ask upfront about sugar preference, and the range of preparations has made this one of the more recognized matcha stops in the neighborhood. The Garden Latte draws its own repeat visitors independent of the pastry case.
The space spans multiple levels: fans on the outdoor terrace, air conditioning inside where laptops are a common sight, and additional seating upstairs. Weekend mornings fill the room—regulars arrive early to secure spots—but weekday visits tend to be considerably more relaxed. Staff are attentive and circle back to refill tea without being flagged down. For a neighborhood with no shortage of cafe options, the combination of a focused pastry menu and a well-executed drinks program gives it a clear point of difference.
When visiting HCMC we came across Garden Kisses tucked away on a side street - a delightful bakery. We are a family of five, including three teenagers and it was a hit with all of us. My husband who loves his coffee, enjoyed the best latte he’d had since leaving Australia almost three weeks ago. Delicious pastries & scrolls, friendly staff and even a clean toilet (always appreciated!). Plenty of extra seating out the back and upstairs. Highly recommend😊😊
We had the Cici Signature Cinnamon, Vanilla Flan Croissant and Lemon Honey Espresso Tonic. The Signature is soft and lighter, and LHE Tonic refreshing. Nice seating outside with fans, aircon inside with people working on computers and good wifi.
Came here for the cinnamon bun, but they have a pretty good selection of pastries & drinks. Great vibe, good ambiance, not too crowded, friendly staff. Pastries & drinks are both solid, the cinnamon bun has a nice cinnamon flavour, and the croissant’s texture & taste are on point. They warm the pastries up, which is a plus. Their matcha also looks good, hand-whisked to order, probably will come back to try the next time I’m in HCMC.
Nibbles 10/10 🥐 (hands down to the best sourdough buns in the city) Ambience & service 10/10 🍵 My all-time favourite cafe in the city. It does get busy on weekends (no surprise as it’s a crowd favourite), so I always come early to secure a seat. The drinks are consistently delicious too, Garden Latte is my go-to 💚
This is the most famous matcha spot in Thao Dien but to us their soft cream cheese cookies are probably the best we've ever had. My boss is in love with them, she always comes back for them. I recommend those & houjicha
