I been in that place many times and I realize that, time to time when they don’t want to make sushi with omelette for me they just say we don’t have it - because it’s cheap position. If you don’t like cheap positions - remove it from menu. If you ok with that - teach your staff to follow menu. I ordered different rolls which have omelette in it too and they did it? Why cuz it’s expensive. You think I’m stupid or what? The chubby waitress walking like at home — no hurry, no worry - actually she don’t care what’s going on. The whole atmosphere like staff makes me a favor. Unacceptable. Definitely will not come anymore.

Gami Sushi - Japanese restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Gami Sushi sits on Trần Não in Bình Khánh, one of the more accessible sushi options in a neighborhood better known for pricier dining. The kitchen runs from 10 AM to midnight every day, a schedule that makes it practical for everything from a weekday lunch to a late post-work meal — a rarity among Japanese spots in the area.
The draw is straightforward: sushi at prices that land well below what comparable rolls cost at Thao Dien's higher-end Japanese restaurants. Salmon, tuna, and assorted rolls anchor the menu, including omelette-based options that sit at the cheaper end of the list. A simple salad rounds things out for those who want something lighter alongside the sushi.
The dining room is casual and open — the kitchen is visible from the tables, which gives the space an unfussy character. It is not a destination designed to impress; it is a neighborhood restaurant that a portion of locals and expats have made a repeat stop, returning specifically because the price-to-quality ratio holds up for casual sushi cravings.
Service runs at its own pace. Reviews place it somewhere between relaxed and slow depending on the visit, which tracks with the overall register of the place — informal, unpretentious, and staffed without ceremony. Portions have drawn occasional comment for not quite matching menu photography, but for the area and price point, Gami Sushi competes on value rather than presentation.
For residents of Thao Dien who want a low-fuss sushi fix without crossing the district or spending significantly, it fills a gap that more polished options in the neighborhood simply do not.

Reviews
The salmon was stale. We expected the real dish would look different but not this different and taste so bad. The salad is the only good dish, cheap. The staff were on their phones and didn't bother to look up until we sat down at the table. No wonder it was empty during rush hour.
Cheap price, fresh food but service is kinda disappointing.
Really high quality sushi for incredibly reasonable prices.
We went in at 8:50pm while the place would close at 10:pm. The kitchen was full of staff (it's open and you can see all the way back there), but no one attended to us, not even signaled that they acknowledge our presence. After a while (1min or so), we ended up leaving after standing there as if we didn't exist
