Wow. What an experience! 🥹 We went for the Large Format Steak for 2, and it was incredible. The steak was so juicy, so tender and full of flavour. We asked Teddy, the manager, what cooking point she recommended for that particular cut and trusted her completely. We went with medium rare and it was PERFECT. And honestly, everything we tried was amazing. The mushrooms were SO tasty (I seriously need the recipe 😂), the mushroom soup, the Coastal Lamb tartare taco… absolutely everything! But what made the experience even more special was the people. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so warm and genuinely kind. I didn’t feel like I was visiting a restaurant. I felt like I was visiting the home of good friends. ❤️ The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, with only a few tables, great food and wine, and no feeling of rush or noise. If you’re looking for a great steak restaurant in Thao Dien, a date night, dinner with friends or simply somewhere to treat yourself, go to El Toro. Had a bad day? Go to El Toro. Had a great day? World-class cuisine with impeccable service. I was impressed by the elegance of the setting and the meticulous attention to detail. The presentation of each dish was nothing short of art — from the beautifully plated steak to the vibrant vegetable sides, everything reflected a commitment to excellence. The flavors were balanced, rich, and memorable. What truly set the evening apart, however, was the service. The staff were not only attentive but also exceptionally well-trained, anticipating needs before they were voiced and ensuring every moment felt seamless. Their professionalism elevated the entire experience, making us feel both welcomed and valued. For sure this is a restaurant I will come back!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff (especially Teddy) were incredibly attentive and friendly. I was really impressed by the restaurant’s fancy ambiance, which gave a very luxurious feel. Every dish was excellent, but the pumpkin soup was especially memorable. The only downside was that the ventilation could be better, as the smell of steak tended to linger on clothes after leaving the restaurant.

This is my second time coming to El Toro and once again it was an amazing experience. Teddy and her staff were professional, friendly, and so welcoming. The food was delicious, ordered my ribeye medium rare and it was seasoned properly and juicy. I had the prawn and scallop bisque as an appetizer and it was so flavorful and the seafood was fresh. My friend had the coastal lamb tartar tacos and she enjoyed them as well. El Toro has a great vibe, and it’s always a great experience. I’ll definitely be back before I leave HCMC.

The space isn’t crowded at all — just the right number of tables to keep things intimate. What I loved most was how connected the dining area felt to the kitchen; there’s this warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel at home while still being in a refined setting. The food? Absolutely outstanding. The appetizer — a silky, aromatic pâté — was rich yet perfectly balanced, not overwhelming in the slightest. Every side dish, from the fresh greens to the delicate mushrooms, carried a subtle elegance that elevated the whole experience. And the meat… oh man, the meat was on another level. It was so tender it practically melted on my tongue — one of those rare bites that makes you pause just to appreciate it. Then came dessert — the cheesecake, my personal highlight of the evening. It was memorable in every sense: not too heavy, not overly sweet, but incredibly smooth and satisfying. The kind of dessert you wish would never end, because each bite felt just right. And of course, the service tied it all together. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, polite, and clearly cared about the little details. Everything flowed seamlessly, making the entire experience feel effortless and genuinely special.
