Roots Plant-based Cafe - Hẻm 41 Xuan Thuy - Health food restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Roots is my favorite restaurant in Vietnam and I am so happy they are in Thao Dien now. I’ve been visiting their downtown location for months but this location has the same quality, service and atmosphere that I’ve experienced. The food is so healthy and delicious, and I can’t even believe how their burgers taste almost exactly like real meat. The restaurant is located at the end of a quiet alley, but it is very inviting and the space is quite airy. The staff are amazing too and always have a cheerful attitude!

The food here is great, the portions are large, and the ingredients are super high quality. It’s all plant-based, but still delicious for my fellow meat-lovers. The food is also priced well, in the 100-160k range. The coffee was decent (mugs are coming soon). I believe this is a secondary location to the one in DaNang! (Edit, 3rd location!)

Beautiful peaceful atmosphere and very kind staff. I especially loved the taco dish — fresh, nourishing, and full of vibrant energy. You can really feel the care in the ingredients. Highly recommend trying it

Roots Plant-based is honestly such a hidden gem in Thao Dien. The space feels incredibly calming with its warm wooden interior, lots of greenery, and natural lighting. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed the moment you walk in. I visited around noon and the atmosphere was still quiet and cozy - perfect for working, reading, or simply slowing down on the weekend. The food is fully plant-based but surprisingly flavorful and satisfying. The salad/quinoa bowl I ordered was fresh, filling, and paired with a really tasty sauce. It felt healthy without being boring. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming. Definitely a cafe I’d come back to whenever I need a peaceful little reset 🌿
