Loved the food and the vibes of the restaurant. The retro Hong Kong inspired renovation sets a great atmosphere. The place is very suitable for gatherings with friends and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.

ChanChan Vegan Noodle - Vegan restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Honestly, this was my second time visiting this restaurant because a friend of mine wanted to have vegetarian food. I have to say that I feel the restaurant is a bit overhyped. First, the food was very basic and nothing special in terms of taste. Second, the service wasn’t great. After our first dish, we had to wait around 15–20 minutes for the second one. In the end, we decided to pack the remaining food after trying only a little of it. I also felt that the prices were quite high considering both the taste and the portion sizes. Lastly, the drinks were filled with so much ice that they became difficult to enjoy. Overall, it wasn’t a satisfying experience, and I don’t think it offered good value for the price.
Flavorful noodle, complex flavors, both sweet, spicy and salty umami. Fried mushroom and the minced “meat” gave a lot of texture and flavor to the noodle. Soup was homey and comforting. There will be a wait during lunch time and there is service charge and VAT even though you self order and pay at counter. The place is a bit stuffy and hot during the lunch hour. Overall, food is good and worth trying.
A cool, hip vegan noodle bar in Thao Dien — great for a date or catching up with friends. The retro-inspired decor and open-space dining evoke Hong Kong in the early 20th century, but with a more refined dining experience. We ordered the Madame Ho Ha Cao, Vegan Hue Noodle Soup, and ChanChan Mian. The dishes were flavourful with a lot of depth, though a bit too salty for our taste. Service was pretty standard — you ordered at the counter and food was brought to you. We were seated near the counter, so do expect occasional back-and-forth between the staff and kitchen as orders are called out.
Gotta love a fully vegan noodle shop! Super friendly staff, fast wifi, and they had all of the traditional Vietnamese noodle options veganized. I tried the bun hue and it did not disappoint. Only downside is they didn’t have specialty salt coffees, but that’s a blessing in disguise as there are many other cool coffee shops nearby
