Capone’s Chicago Pizza and Beer - Pizza restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

I hate writing this because I used to really enjoy Capone’s… but after my experience this Sunday, I won’t be ordering again. I ordered a pizza for lunch delivery and what arrived was honestly disappointing at best. The crust was completely soggy, the cheese was gloopy, and there was almost no flavor at all. It felt like a total miss from what I’ve had there before. What really sealed it for me, though, was the response from management. When I reached out to share the issue, there was no accountability or effort to make it right — which is frustrating, especially as a repeat customer who has supported them many times. It’s a shame because I used to recommend Capone’s, but based on both the quality of this order and how the complaint was handled, I won’t be coming back. Save your money and your time — there are better options in Thao Dien. I’d recommend Kin’s Pizza instead: better quality, better prices, and much better service.

My family ordered a basic pizza from Capone’s Pizza as a special treat. When the box arrived, it was lukewarm and the pizza was completely inedible — by far the worst we’ve EVER had. The quality was off in every way, and several of us felt sick afterward. We messaged them immediately to report the problem. Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any resolution (such as a refund or remake), they made excuses and basically told us that’s how their pizza is supposed to be. They even mentioned they ‘can’t keep apologizing,’ even though they hadn’t apologized at all. For an expensive order that was meant to be a nice family moment, the complete lack of accountability was especially disappointing. If they had owned the mistake, refunded our money, and shown they valued the customer, we likely would have given them another chance. Instead, their response made it clear this wasn’t something we could overlook. We’ve now lost all trust and will not be ordering from Capone’s Pizza again. I’m sharing this experience so others can avoid the same frustrating and wasteful situation. If you’re considering ordering from them, proceed with caution.

Pretty good service and atmosphere. The deep dish pizza is not as good as the one I always had in Chicago. But for Vietnam, it’s good enough. Will dine here again.

Just exceptional. We are nearing the end of our 2 week journey across Vietnam, and as typical westerners, we were just craving some classic pizza and wings. We stumbled on this place during our drive to a massage spa, and my boyfriend stopping in to grab a drink here and wait for me was a great choice. This place is owned by a local family, and they give it 110%. Mel, Mrs. Thao, and their son (the barback) are some of the loveliest folks we’ve ever met. Aside from the great food, they made us feel like family and that we’d known them forever. We found new friends in Vietnam in them, and hope to see them again soon. XO!

I dropped in expecting to stay for a quick drink while waiting for my girlfriend to have a massage. Mel, Ms Tao and Long (I’ve probably butchered the spelling on all of those) made us feel so so welcome that we didn’t want to leave. The food, the drinks, but most importantly the atmosphere were all incredible. They make you feel like part of the family and it’s hard to leave. Wish we weren’t leaving tomorrow (or ever) so we can keep coming back! Thank you all so much for having us, helping us with things to do around the city, and treating us like close friends / family.
