Mitsu Hidden Izakaya chứa được khoảng năm người quanh quầy bar và mấy cái bàn thấp — đó là toàn bộ không gian. Bếp để mở, xiên nướng đặt lên vỉ cách chỗ ngồi gần nhất chừng một mét, khói bay nhẹ qua phòng khi những xiên yakitori gà và heo được mang ra đúng vị. Phần sushi cũng không kém: nigiri và maki với cơm đủ ấm, cá tươi thanh chứ không nặng.
Đồ uống thiên về Nhật. Bia Sapporo nama rót từ vòi, còn umeshu tự làm tại quán — uống nhẹ đến mức phải biết kiềm chế. Quầy bar nằm tầng trệt, phòng ăn lên một tầng, cái bố cục đó khiến nơi này có cảm giác như một căn bếp riêng mở cửa đón khách buổi tối hơn là một nhà hàng thông thường.
Quán mở từ 6 giờ tối đến 2 giờ sáng, thứ Ba đến Chủ Nhật — hợp cho những ai muốn tìm chỗ ghé sau giờ ăn tối chính hay để khởi đầu một đêm dài hơn. Khu Thao Dien không thiếu những chỗ ăn pan-Asian đủ món hay cocktail bar rộng thực đơn; Mitsu chọn hướng đi hẹp hơn — yakitori, đồ nhậu Nhật, danh sách đồ uống ngắn — và chính sự tập trung đó cho phép bếp làm ít thứ nhưng làm tốt hơn.
Thực đơn nhỏ gọn có chủ ý. Unagi là món được nhắc đến nhiều nhất trong các đánh giá, cùng với combo nướng. Edamame cũng được khen vì gia vị. Quán không có mặt trên các app giao đồ ăn, nên muốn ăn ở đây thì phải đến tận nơi — mà với quy mô này, cuối tuần nên đến sớm.
This place is simply cute and cozy. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. The space is charming and nicely arranged — perfect for a relaxed meal. The unagi and grilled skewers taste amazing: fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Overall, a lovely little spot that feels just right. I’d love to come back
Great concept however lacking in hygiene standards and you can find better food elsewhere. We visited during dinner time. Food was average, though we enjoyed the seasoning on skewer items. Meat didn’t taste too fresh, and tamago was only okay. Unagi don was the best dish we ordered. Worst part was when barely one dish in I spotted a huge cockroach 🪳crawling around the kitchen and seating area. It started moving through the dried grass above us and completely startled us we had to leave. Staff didn’t seem to notice the cockroach. During our meal something was also burning and it seemed like it was rinsed in the sink straightaway which made the place smell awful for a good 15 minutes. Since the restaurant is tiny and little ventilation, one wouldn’t be able to escape it. We were also given the wrong bill (30% higher) and thank goodness we were still downstairs that the staff could return us the difference in cash. Overall it was interesting and “hidden” but I wouldn’t come back.
Great food, but please...the tax charged is ridiculous. Don't do this! 3 separate taxes is simply deceptive pricing. Please just add it into the cost of the food.
A cozy place with a great atmosphere and delicious food on the second floor of the bar. I recommend visiting it
My new favorite spot for Izakaya in Thao Dien area. Small and cozy, solid!!
