The food and appetizers here are objectively delicious, but a few details fell short of the prestige the restaurant holds. I was disappointed to be denied a small sample of wine before committing to a glass —a first for me in the fine dining world. Additionally, my soufflé was overcooked, though the accompanying sorbet was amazing . For a restaurant of this level, I expected a bit more flexibility with the wine service and more precision with the pastry timing.
01/2026 I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s perfect for your special occasion. The atmosphere is elegant but not overtly formal. The staff is friendly and warmly polite. The chef also came out to greet us! We ordered 2 mains and 1 entree from the a la carte menu, but the house also offered us quite some nice appetizers to start and desserts to finish! The Anjou pigeon fillet is so expertly prepared. It’s firm on the cut but surprisingly tender on your bite. For the Alaskan black cod, there is a deep savoriness that it honestly feels like you’re tasting the ocean. The dessert from the house is quite nice as well. The macarons are standout—easily among the best I’ve ever had. They even won over my partner, who has zero sweet tooth but took a genuine liking to them.
A French-style spot in Thảo Điền. I chose the set menu and the atmosphere was very warm and intimate. The service was highly professional—Michelin-level. The portions are small, but every dish was delicious. Depending on how you prefer to pace your meal, you may feel the service is faster or slower, but overall it felt well-timed. At the end, the chef even came out to greet us. Truly a memorable and enjoyable experience.
La Villa French Restaurant offers an extremely elegant fine dining experience where every detail feels intentional. From the refined presentation to the thoughtful balance of flavors, each dish was creative, memorable, and beautifully executed. What truly set the evening apart was the warmth of the people behind it. The chef and his wife graciously came out throughout the meal to interact with guests, making the experience feel personal and welcoming. The wine sommelier—who has worked alongside the chef for 15 years—was exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough, adding even more depth to the experience. Every member of the staff genuinely cared about ensuring we had a wonderful evening. An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish.
