The best for the dawn watching. I dont like they use fan because it is too strong to any corner that you sot close to it. Music style need to be more zen so people can talk and just relax.

Bếp do một đầu bếp người Pháp-Singapore dẫn dắt, phong cách của ông thể hiện rõ qua những món ăn cân bằng giữa kỹ thuật Âu và nguyên liệu địa phương — bạch tuộc nướng mềm mại chứ không dai, thịt ba chỉ phủ lớp sốt ngọt mặn đậm đà khiến thực khách muốn quay lại, còn ức vịt và sò điệp nướng góp phần hoàn thiện thực đơn thiên về các món protein chín trực tiếp trên lửa.
Điều khiến Clay nổi bật giữa hàng loạt nhà hàng ven sông đang cạnh tranh để thu hút cùng một lượng khách ăn tối chính là dịch vụ — được nhắc đến trong các đánh giá nhiều không kém gì món ăn. Nhân viên ở đây nổi tiếng với việc nhận ra khách quen dù đã vắng mặt nhiều tháng, thậm chí còn nhớ được order của họ từ lần trước — mức độ chu đáo hiếm gặp ở các nhà hàng cùng tầm giá trong khu vực. Cả đội biết cách đọc bàn, ân cần mà không quá bám sát.
Không gian thu hút một tệp khách đa dạng: các cặp đôi expat, doanh nhân ghé thăm và du khách đã tìm hiểu kỹ về ẩm thực Sài Gòn trước khi đến. Sân thượng mở thoải mái nhất vào những tháng mát; muỗi bắt đầu xuất hiện lúc chạng vạng — điều đáng lưu ý nếu có kế hoạch ngồi lâu — và các quạt bố trí xung quanh giúp không khí lưu thông nhưng có thể thổi khá mạnh ở một số bàn. Clay mở cửa lúc 3 giờ chiều vào các ngày trong tuần và 4 giờ chiều vào thứ Sáu, thứ Bảy, phục vụ đến nửa đêm — phù hợp cả cho một ly cocktail đầu buổi tối lẫn một bữa ăn đủ đầy.
Thực đơn chỉ bằng tiếng Anh đôi khi nhận được phản hồi không mấy thiện cảm từ thực khách Việt — chi tiết này phản ánh định vị của nhà hàng hơn bất cứ điều gì khác. Với những ai quen với cách trình bày đó, hiếm có nơi nào ở Thao Dien kết hợp được một khung cảnh ven sông thực sự với ẩm thực luôn xứng đáng để tìm đến.

It’s been 7 years since our last visit. We wanted to experience Clay ( sister restaurant to The Deck, which we enjoyed last time) . Clay offers a fabulous vibe, inviting ambience and thoughtful decor. Excellent service, genuine and friendly. The food simply delicious, tasty and very well crafted by the talented French/Singaporean Chef. Highly recommend.
Food was below average, nothing special for the price range they offer. Service was good, staffs are sweet, but not too attentive. We had to move because the table next to us were smoking cigars, I guess it’s a norm for people to smoke in public in Vietnam. The atmosphere and view was excellent, but I can’t get over the fact that they allowed public smoking for such a “classy” restaurant. 🤷🏻♀️ Another major issues is there is NO Vietnamese menu, which is absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful to Vietnamese locals. I feel like most of their high ratings were because of the nice view and atmosphere.
We had such a lovely evening here. The setting is beautiful and overlooks the river, creating the perfect atmosphere. Every dish was amazing, but the steak and grilled scallops were the real highlights. The staff made us feel so welcome. If you're in Saigon, this is a must-visit!!!
I honestly loved the vibe here. The riverside setting feels airy and chill, and it was really comfortable in January, not too hot at all. The food was decent, not wow, but the service truly made the experience for me. The staff were warm, attentive, and actually cared about our experience, which I don’t always see even in more expensive or famous places. It felt genuine, not forced. 😄 I’d say it’s perfect for dates or small friend groups. Just a small note, there are mosquitoes, so bring spray. I really like Clay for its unique atmosphere and I’ll definitely come back.👍🏻
