Buffet Poseidon Thảo Điền - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

I visited this restaurant during lunchtime, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had slipper lobster (tôm mũ ni) available. It was quite fresh and tasty—definitely a highlight of the meal. The sizes of the lobsters weren't perfectly uniform, but that's totally acceptable given the overall quality and price point. The only real drawback for me was the crab (ghẹ). Unfortunately, it wasn't very fresh—the meat was a bit thin and lacking, and on top of that, it was overly salty and seemed to have been soaked in too much briny water. As for the other type of crab (cua), I found it to be just average—nothing special, but not terrible either. Everything else on the buffet or set menu was perfectly fine and enjoyable. Considering the lunch price of 530,000 VND per person, I think it offers reasonable value, especially with the inclusion of decent slipper lobster. Just don't go in expecting top-quality crab, and you'll likely have a satisfying meal

Really enjoyed the seafood, salad and dessert sections,,,very fresh. The meat section is cold and dry not freshly cook.

I first tried this place in one of their branches in Nha Trang and loved it, so I was happy to visit again here in Saigon before my flight back to the Philippines in the evening. While the Nha Trang branch had more options, I still really enjoyed my experience at this one. The variety of seafood they offer is unbelievable, especially for such an affordable price! One thing I wish they could improve on is the drinks. There’s no free water, and you have to purchase beverages separately. They do serve free milk tea, which is nice, but sometimes nothing beats a soda or even just plain water. You have to prepare yourselves. Make sure to come prepared—it’s best to arrive on an empty stomach so you can really take advantage of the buffet!

We were a family of 7 and spent a substantial amount of money here. The food was average at best, but what truly ruined the experience was the appalling customer service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with blank, unfriendly faces. Several staff members stood around our table doing absolutely nothing except staring at us while we were trying to decide what to order. When I asked for a drinks menu, everyone just looked at me as if I'd asked something unreasonable. Eventually someone handed me one without saying a single word. The worst part happened during our meal. My young child accidentally swallowed a small shell, choked, and vomited. As parents, we immediately cleaned up as much as we could ourselves. Meanwhile, most of the staff simply stood there watching. When we finally asked for assistance to properly clean the floor so it wouldn't be slippery or unsafe for other guests, the staff member looked visibly annoyed, as though helping customers was an inconvenience. To make matters worse, while my elderly mother was still eating, a staff member came over and attempted to take away her dish before she had even finished. It was disrespectful and completely unacceptable. I've dined at countless restaurants across Saigon, and this was easily one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. I can overlook average food if the service is warm and welcoming. But no amount of good food can make up for staff who treat customers—especially seniors and young children—with such indifference and disrespect. This restaurant seriously needs to invest in customer service training. Based on this experience, I won't be returning, and I certainly can't recommend it to others.
