Quán Bụi Garden - Vietnamese restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Quán Bụi Garden runs from breakfast through late-night seven days a week, anchored by a menu that covers the full arc of Vietnamese noodle and grill cooking. The kitchen leans heavily on fire: bún chả Hà Nội pairs charcoal-grilled minced pork with rice noodles in the northern style, while the Thai-influenced grilled sour pork arrives with a tamarind sauce that pulls the dish in an unexpected direction. Bò nhúng dấm — beef swirled through a simmering vinegar broth at the table — draws the kind of crowd that treats the cooking process as part of the meal.
The noodle soups are equally varied. Crab and snail noodle soup (bún ốc) is a less common find in Thao Dien's restaurant strip, served with tofu and fresh herbs. Beef shank noodle soup and a fermented fish version with shrimp and pork cover the regional bases. For those who prefer something stir-fried, the crispy pan-fried noodles with seafood hold their texture well enough to be listed separately from the softer stir-fried versions.
Appetizers tilt toward the table-sharing format: a mix platter, dusty spring rolls (the house original), and a deep-fried seafood version with fresh fruit and mayonnaise that reads as a concession to the neighborhood's international clientele. The 2,428 Google reviews at 4.4 stars place it among the more consistently rated Vietnamese restaurants on this side of the district, suggesting the kitchen maintains quality across its broad menu rather than excelling in one narrow area. The garden setting separates it from the tighter indoor rooms that dominate Ngô Quang Huy, making it a practical choice for groups who want space.
Reviews
We had the pleasure of dining at Quán Bụi Garden last night with our Vietnamese friends, and it was nothing short of an experience. From the moment we walked through the lush courtyard, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere is that perfect balance — elegant yet relaxed, traditional yet modern — with soft lighting, greenery all around, and a quiet hum of conversation that makes you feel right at home. The food is where Quán Bụi truly shines. Every dish told its own story of Vietnamese flavor and heritage: And the standout of the night: Cá lăng nướng muối ớt (grilled Hemibagrus catfish with salt and chili) — a rich, flavorful river fish grilled to smoky perfection. Each plate felt crafted with care, and the presentation was beautiful without being pretentious. Service was attentive but never intrusive — our servers anticipated everything with a smile. If you’re in Ho Chi Minh City and want to experience authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a tranquil garden setting, Quán Bụi Garden should be at the top of your list. It’s more than a restaurant — it’s an immersion into Vietnamese hospitality, history, and heart. 🌿 Favorite Dish: Cá Lăng Nướng Muối Ớt 🍽️ Ambiance: Elegant garden dining
10/10 Experience here, We came for breakfast not realizing we only had 2 minutes left and they still let us order off the breakfast menu, the food was so delicious. We came back! Our server Huy was so very helpful with suggestions on where to go here in Ho chi Minh. Definitely recommend going here! :)
It is a famous restaurant for local foods of Southeast Asian countries. There are various kinds of foods with good quantity with good price. They are not very special, but they are enjoyable for the price. You will not fail to try here.
I usually avoid giving 5-star ratings, as I believe they should signify both excellent service and exceptional food. However, Bui exceeded my expectations. The food was great, but the tofu truly amazed my friends and me. It had an incredible taste, texture, and flavor.
