Waited 30 minutes for a coffee. I had to go inside to ask, only to find out it was already done and sitting there melted, the sensor where I was sitting didn’t work. Very disappointing experience. They were not even busy at the time. Don't waste your time here.

Phê-La - Coffee shop in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Phê-La has built a clear identity on Xuân Thủy's dense café strip: a bottled, cold-format drink range anchored by the in-house La Cà line. That line spans a 100% Robusta-Arabica cold brew sourced from Lâm Đồng, a classic sweetened condensed milk coffee, and La Canai — a fresh-milk variant intended for all-day drinking. The cold brew teas are positioned as stomach-friendly, explicitly described as neither bitter nor astringent, which gives them a point of difference from the more intense caffeine formats common to the surrounding block.
The menu reads as thoughtfully layered for different palates. The Smoked Oolong Milk Tea brings a distinctive smoky note that separates it from standard milk tea offerings. The Jasmine Matcha Latte uses Vietnamese oolong matcha, landing somewhere between a traditional matcha and a floral green tea. For non-coffee drinkers, honey lemon tea, lemon chrysanthemum honey tea, and bottled cold-brew green tea fill out the options. A standing buy-three-get-one promotion on cold brew teas signals that the operation is optimized as much for group pickups and office runs as for solo sit-downs.
With 1,575 Google reviews at 4.1 and consistent daily hours from 7 AM to 10:30 PM, the café serves a broad range of visitors — early commuters, midday remote workers, and evening social groups alike. The Thảo Điền address places it among several specialty drink shops competing for the same foot traffic, but the bottled product line and the coherent La Cà branding give Phê-La a more retail-forward identity than most neighbors, appealing to repeat customers who know exactly what they are coming for.

Reviews
This Phe-La branch has three floors and a very beautiful entrance. There are many quite seats on the upper floors perfect for working while the first floor has more people. You can enjoy more decos in the outdoor sitting area. The tea blend is very aromatic and goes perfectly with the milk and sweetness.
내돈내산 The drinks were fairly average, and the star rating I’m giving is mainly because of the greenery. There are many trees here, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Sitting under the trees in the morning with a cup of coffee is a simple joy for coffee lovers. I apologize for bringing in a roast pork banh mi for breakfast, but enjoying coffee alongside bread and sweets made the morning even better. I truly had a pleasant time here and will definitely come back in the future. 🤗
PHE LA / THAO DIEN — MUSIC TO MY EARS this is the spot for premium milk tea. no cap. SPECIAL NOTE FOR THIS LOCATION: THAO DIEN FLOOR BREAKDOWN - 1ST & 3RD FLOORS: NORMAL these are the “normal” phe la floors, which are noisier. - 2ND FLOOR: SPECIALTY it’s a quiet, clean, and intimate space with an awesome manual brew bar. all their teas and coffees up there are hand-crafted, and it's really cool watching the barista work on your masterpiece. there’s a special menu up here and you can only access this floor with a purchase. the vibe is totally different from the usual bustling phe la downstairs; again, it's quiet and chill. no children under 12 allowed. if you order a manual brew, you can go up to 70% sugar, as the stronger flavor balances it out perfectly. THE MILK TEA FLEX this spot consistently serves some of the best milk tea in hcmc. it's fire across all locations and never misses. THE PRO TIP heads up, their standard milk tea can be pretty sweet. i definitely recommend adjusting the sweetness levels to 30–50%. but go full ice. trust me, this drink should always be enjoyed ice-cold. THE CONVENIENCE & VIBE with multiple locations throughout hcmc, you're never far from a quality brew. the space works for both hanging with your crew or getting some work done, thanks to solid wifi. while it can get a bit loud, it's still lowkey clutch for productivity between sips. THE AESTHETICS the instagram-worthy cup designs are straight fire and keep things fresh every visit. the whole experience is good for your feed and your taste buds. plus, all their branding is congruent across every touchpoint, which is lowkey impressive. THE REALITY CHECK keeping it buck: their locations aren't the cleanest, as tables don't get cleared very fast and bathroom maintenance isn't top-tier, likely due to high volume. the lighting can also be a miss—some spots have harsh, direct light that isn't the most comfortable. depending on the time and location, service can be a bit sluggish. it's hit or miss, but still good. THE FINAL VERDICT if you're chasing premium milk tea that never misses, in a spot that works for both hangs and work, this place is a total yes. the second floor is as premium it gets. fax. no printer. peep the images; they’re worth a thou. don't forget to ❤️.
Phê La is by far the largest, most beautifully designed, and well-invested location in the entire chain. There’s a dedicated area for customers who want to experience high-quality oolong tea, brewed right on the spot using various methods, all clearly explained in detailed flyers. The space captures the essence of rural Vietnam with traditional elements, enhancing the overall experience. The second floor is reserved for the VIP menu, adding an exclusive touch to the visit. Overall, it's a unique and immersive experience, especially for tea lovers looking for something authentic and special.
