I booked a 7 PM SPA, but the door was locked when I arrived. The receptionist couldn't speak English at all. It was a wasted trip. They have absolutely no integrity. Foreigners do not to come to this SPA

Phaya Thai Spa - Thảo Điền Quận 2 - Spa in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Phaya Thai Spa sits on Quốc Hương in An Khánh, drawing a steady mix of expats and locals who want Thai-style bodywork at prices well below what the district's hotel spas charge. The 90-minute body course — which begins with a foot wash before moving into the main massage — is the default booking for regulars, with the acupressure technique drawing particular praise from guests who favor deeper pressure work. The hot stone massage is another consistent draw, offered in a setting reviewers describe as cozy and well-kept.
What separates the spa from comparable options nearby is the English fluency of the reception and several therapists. It removes the usual guesswork around pressure preferences and treatment options that makes massage visits frustrating for non-Vietnamese speakers, and has built a loyal expat following over multiple years as a result — the kind of recommendation that circulates in neighborhood groups and comes up again over dinner.
Pricing sits noticeably below comparable Thai spa options across the river. The 90-minute body course and the 90-minute hair treatment both land under the 500,000 VND mark, which drives consistent booking volume. That volume can, at times, work against the experience: noise from adjacent treatment rooms, staff conversations carrying through walls, and occasional phone calls audible mid-session have all appeared in recent reviews. The Quốc Hương location also sits near active construction, and some guests have noted drill noise filtering in during daytime hours.
Therapist consistency has shown some variation in recent months, with a handful of reviews suggesting the experience is less reliable than it once was. For guests whose priority is English-accessible, affordably priced Thai massage in a neighborhood setting without the impersonality of a hotel spa, it remains a practical choice — particularly for the hot stone and body course options where the technique tends to hold up best.
Reviews
Super nice Spa, friendly staff, Relaxing atmosphere and very affordable prices
I have been clients for three years, recomending to everybody as the massage and the place were always good. Last night I was there, and the first I saw is a change in the menu. Maybe a change of management? The massagist hurt me the hand while stretching. It was not the first clancy movement she has done during the massage. After the massage, I just gave a 3 stars review on the paper they give u, as I didn't want to be so hard on the review, but I didn't give any tip after such a bad massage. When I was going out, the massagist looked at me bad, I imagine because I didnt give any tip. Today I came back to talk to a manager as I have got many massages here and I wanted to inform them to improve their services. The recepcionists didn't understand what I was saying and they called the manager, that was not able to understand what I was saying in English. I tried to email them but even in the website they don't have any email to contact.
Great place, the spot is cozy and cute, the staff was nice and the hot stone massage great. Would only recommend them to be careful regarding noise: while we were having the massage, we could hear the staff talking, others cooking, someone on the phone very loudly which seemed like he was next to me.
My first experience was positive, but the second time was awful. One of the guests was talking loudly on the phone while I was having a massage. Unfortunately, the staff didn't say anything to her, so I couldn't enjoy the treatment. It was a terrible experience, and I even had to pay for it.
