Had craving for Turkish food and came across this shop on Google map. Ordered chicken panini set, which comes with sweet potato fries (choice of side - fries, sweet potato fries, salad or coleslaw) and drink. Total VND 260k Chicken Panini - very nice, hearty, gave sufficient meats and vegetables. Sweet Potato Fries - wish they cut it in smaller pieces, it will be easier to eat. Little bit hard on texture compared to what I usually had, maybe slightly over fried. Casual dining place. You can try many different food here. Recommended to check out the location.

Kebab 88 - Fast food restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Kebab 88 occupies a counter inside a shared food hall on Trần Ngọc Diện, one of the quieter residential streets in Thảo Điền. The format is stripped back — order at the counter, pick your bread and protein, wait a few minutes. What distinguishes it from the city's broader kebab landscape is a refusal to adapt: tzatziki instead of the mayonnaise-based white sauce common at most Saigon kebab spots, and harissa made in-house rather than squeezed from a commercial bottle.
The menu covers a wider range of bread formats than most comparable spots — tortilla wraps, triangle bread, baguette (the Le Banner), panini (the Submarine), and a burger-bun build called the Fedor that uses beef köfte in place of shaved kebab meat. Proteins run to grilled chicken, Arabic-style merguez beef sausage, köfte, and falafel. Combos pair a sandwich with a side and drink for around 250,000 VND; sweet potato fries are the most popular side. The AK-88, stacked with three merguez sausages, egg, bacon, and cheddar, is one of the more loaded options on the menu.
The crowd skews toward expats who've made it a regular stop over several years, alongside locals after something outside the standard Thảo Điền dining rotation. The daily hours — 11 AM to 10:30 PM — make it a practical choice when other kitchens in the neighborhood are winding down, and repeat visitors frequently cite the late availability as part of the appeal.
The falafel wrap has received mixed feedback, with some noting oily texture and thin filling, but the meat-based options hold up consistently across visits. For diners who've navigated enough Saigon kebab shops to know the difference, the sauce quality here is the detail that sticks.
Reviews
Overall everything was good to experience, I highly recommend the Tacos here, if you are looking for a soft dish for lunch or dinner, I think this is a good choice
Delicious food and great service! Lovely staff; we even got an extra portion of fries! The atmosphere is really vivid. Can recommend to get a combo; consists of a kebab, drink and (sweet potato) fries (~250k dong). The kebab shop is located in some sort of a hall, where lots of local food shops are clustered. so there are lots of variety of food you could enjoy with your friends. :)
Not good kebab. Ordered kebab triangle. Extra 50g of chicken was 45k, but that's okay, whatever. Anyway, kebab taste weird, like if it's burned or something.
The most authentic kebab out there! Not adapted to suit Vietnamese taste, which is what I have been looking for a while now! They have the white sauce, whereas other places replace it with mayonaise... And they also have home made harissa! My favorite Kebab place! Update: since my first review 7 years ago, the place has moved and changed. Just got a Merguez sandwich the other day and it was fire! Jesus... I needed that!
