Dolphy Cafe - Coffee shop in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Dolphy Cafe occupies a multi-level shophouse on Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, one of Thao Dien's main arteries, with upper floors that frame views of Landmark 81 across the river. The interior is built around raw concrete and exposed metal — a stripped-back aesthetic that sits apart from the leafy, rattan-heavy cafés common in the neighborhood. Ceiling fans replace air conditioning throughout, keeping the space open without sealing it off from the street.
The drinks list runs deeper than the standard Saigon café. The salted bạc xỉu — Vietnamese milk coffee finished with salted cream — is one of the more distinctive items, and the apricot cold brew (coldbrew mơ) offers something less common on local menus. Espresso-based drinks are competently made and honestly priced; the house matcha latte on oat milk has drawn specific praise. A short food menu covers croissants (plain, almond, and ham-and-cheese), paninis, mini bánh mì, and cookies. The Vietnamese Combo — milk coffee paired with bánh mì gà rô ti — is a practical morning option that folds breakfast into a single stop.
Quiet and consistently well-lit, the space draws remote workers, students, and locals who want a reliable early start — doors open at 6 AM every day of the week. Service across a large pool of reviews is described as quick and friendly. As a franchise with multiple District 2 locations, Dolphy maintains a consistency that single-location independents sometimes struggle to match, and this branch benefits from the foot traffic of Nguyễn Văn Hưởng and a rooftop vantage point most neighbors cannot offer.

Reviews
Amazing view of Landmark 81 from the top floor and a delicious salted coffee!
We had a wonderful time here! The customer service was wonderful, drinks were delicious and the decor is perfect.
One of my favorite cafés in District 2 – Dolphy Coffee I really enjoy spending time at Dolphy Coffee. It’s a franchise with several locations, and I often visit the ones in District 2. The spaces are open, full of natural light, and beautifully designed with plants and a relaxed vibe. No air conditioning – just natural airflow with ceiling fans, which I really appreciate. What makes Dolfi stand out for me is the atmosphere. It’s quiet and calm – no screaming kids, no loud conversations, no phone calls on (which can be quite common in Vietnam). It’s the perfect spot to work, read, or just relax. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean and well-maintained, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and ambiance you get. Definitely one of my go-to places in the area!
Every time I visit here, I feel so relaxed. All the staff are very friendly, and they serve tasty drinks with great hospitality. I love Dolphy and hope this awesome place stays cool!
