The most nicest, simpelst and cozy cafe ever...in Saigon!

Bonjour Cafe the Art - Cafe in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Bonjour Cafe the Art occupies a corner on Thảo Điền street with two distinct personalities. The ground floor is intimate and floral — dense with decorative blooms and framed artwork that prompt an instinctive reach for a phone camera. Climb the stairs and the space opens into something more expansive: a colorful, light-filled room where French classical music runs in the background and the street noise below disappears. It is one of the few cafes in the neighborhood that shifts mood meaningfully by floor.
The coffee leans toward Vietnamese-French crossover. The salty coffee is the order that consistently surprises — despite its name, the flavor is rich and creamy with only a faint savory edge, a style that has been gaining ground across Saigon. Coconut coffee is the crowd-pleasing alternative. On the food side, croissants are executed properly: buttery, layered, and flaky. The breakfast egg-and-bread set fills out the morning menu alongside pastries, making this a more functional stop than most decor-forward cafes in Thao Dien.
The drinks menu stretches into kombucha and smoothies. The choco nana smoothie lands well — balanced rather than cloying, finished with crunchy banana chips. The wifi is reliable, and Arabica coffee is priced at a level that does not punish remote workers for staying through a second order.
The clientele skews toward the expat and tourist end of the Thao Dien demographic, drawn partly by the photogenic setting and partly by the consistent quality. With 804 Google reviews at 4.2 stars, it has built a steady following without requiring much beyond its own interior. Open daily from 7 AM, with extended weekend hours until 10:30 PM, it covers the full arc of the neighborhood's day.
Reviews
Very nice guy working the front counter. Place is beautiful and full of art. This is a powerful reflection of the beauty in all the people if Vietnam. Coffee and food were both great. Love the eggs/bread. Coffee was excellent.
Kombucha was fair and ok. But the toilet experience was the highlight! Whoever thought of putting a small table here was a true feminist! They know and understand what women need. Also the fun frames on the wall that made me linger longer in the bathroom🤪
A pleasant surprise! While the downstairs is a bit cozy, the upstairs reveals a spacious and colorful room. It feels like a private escape from the city's noise, complemented by a relaxing soundtrack of old-school French classical music. The wifi was reliable, and the Arabica coffee was excellent and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!
Such a beautiful and well-maintained place! It’s truly a work of art. I had the coconut ice cream, and it was delicious—not too sweet, just the way I like it. Perfect spot to relax, and I’ll come back next time I’m in town.
