부채집 - Yakitori Kitchen - Izakaya restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Just backed from golf round and found: A niche drinking place with a lot of nice dishes. Love the Atmosphere: Modern Izakaya with interesting menu and Highballs. If you have a group of people wanna have drinks with nice food: This is the place!

A very nice Japanese spot tucked away down a quiet hem opposite spring cutlet. Freindly and quiet service. Nice decor and comfy seats. Tight menu but the food was very well cooked, especially liked the fish, salmon sashimi and skewers. Very nice toilets also.

It's my first time here and it's really good. Especially the tomato soup is the best.

I just had a meal here with another person, and the total bill was over 1,700,000 VND. We ordered a sashimi platter priced at 690,000 VND, which is not cheap at all, so naturally we had certain expectations regarding freshness and quality. Unfortunately, the sashimi was extremely disappointing and did not justify the price whatsoever. The fish was clearly not fresh. The tuna, in particular, would break apart and crumble as soon as it was picked up, which is a very obvious sign of poor quality. I tried a few bites but simply could not continue eating it. The other dishes were also very average and unremarkable, especially considering the price level of this restaurant. Overall, this dining experience was far below expectations, and based on this visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Food is just so authentic; their sliced raw octopus and mochi tofu are totally recommendable.
