Still my go-to spot for a Western brunch when I want to stay in my comfort zone. The food is fresh, and the atmosphere is cozy. The only downside is that there’s no AC, so it can get a bit too hot depending on the time of year

Tartine Saigon - Thao Dien, Q2 - Brunch restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Về Địa Điểm Này
Fresh sourdough is the backbone of everything at Tartine Saigon — from the buttery pastries to the bread served alongside their shakshuka and eggs benedict with truffle hollandaise. Run by artisan bakers, this open-air bakery-café on Street 66 near Tropic Garden pulls a steady crowd of Thao Dien expats for long brunches, with the Full Breakfast and Smokin' Avo Affair among the heavier options. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and English-speaking, and the WiFi makes it easy to linger over coffee and a slice of cheesecake. No AC, so mornings are the move when the heat picks up.

Ordered baguette and sour dough bread. The baguette was sent open with Grab driver which made 3 stops coming to me. Tartine isn't a new establishment, not to mention Thao Dien branch has been their driving location. There is no excuses for the lack of proper food handling and disregard to food safety. Oh, the attitude and disregard of the staff is another story, which led me to write here.
I was halfway through eating my shakshouka when I discovered TWO STRANDS OF HAIR embedded in the food. This is beyond repulsive and completely unacceptable. It represents a serious breach of basic food hygiene and safety standards. At that point, the meal was no longer edible. I immediately threw the rest away, which meant paying for a dish I could not safely consume. This is not a minor issue or a matter of personal preference, it is a fundamental failure in food handling and quality control. For a café that positions itself as reputable and premium, this level of negligence is shocking. Hair contamination is one of the most basic things a professional kitchen is expected to prevent. I strongly urge management to review their hygiene protocols before this happens to another customer.
We came for a late breakfast. All the bread we tried was fresh, soft, & delicious. Hot food was also very tasty - quiche was enough for 2. Cappuccino was very good. Our server was attentive & super friendly. We were so happy to find Tartine & will definitely look for their other locations while we are in town!
The staffs were friendly. The chicken sandwich was great, very flavourful. The bake cheese cake was good too, not too sweet
