Mr. Pie nằm trong một căn nhà phố nhỏ trên đường Nguyễn Cừ, với vài bàn ngoài trời, một góc sofa và nội thất theo phong cách vintage — mang hơi hướng tiệm bánh khu phố nhiều hơn là quán cà phê sang trọng. Điều khiến khách quay lại — có người mỗi tuần, có người đều đặn mỗi Chủ Nhật — chính là phần vỏ bánh: giòn ngay khi cầm lên, giữ nguyên hình dù bên trong đầy nhân, không bị đặc cứng hay ngấy dầu, bọc quanh các loại nhân bò, heo, cá hồi, Phở Steak, hoặc Bulgogi kiểu Hàn làm từ thịt heo ướp nước tương. Sausage roll — có nhân bò, heo và cá hồi, bán hai cái một phần — là món bán chạy nhất trong thực đơn; nhiều khách đặt giao hàng cũng ghi nhận bánh vẫn còn nóng và nguyên vẹn khi đến tay.
Các combo — bánh pie 120g hoặc 250g kèm đồ uống, món phụ và dưa chua — được định giá theo cách khá bất ngờ so với một địa chỉ tại Thao Dien vốn quen với cà phê sang trọng và nhà hàng quốc tế. Khoai tây nghiền với sốt gravy là món mặn đi kèm chủ đạo. Thực đơn còn mở rộng sang những hướng ít gặp ở các tiệm bánh phương Tây trong khu vực: bánh cloud bread không gluten, bánh tart trứng mini, bánh tart CoBa nhân dừa và chuối, bánh pie trái cây mùa Giáng Sinh với hơn 10 loại trái cây, cùng sốt tartar và honey mustard tự làm tại chỗ.
Khách lui tới chủ yếu là cộng đồng người nước ngoài tìm kiếm hương vị quen thuộc — người Úc đặc biệt nhận ra ngay kiểu bánh này — cùng những khách địa phương đã biến việc ghé Mr. Pie thành thói quen cố định hàng tuần. Nhân viên liên tục được nhắc đến vì kiên nhẫn giới thiệu và giải thích thực đơn cho khách lần đầu. Bao bì cũng nhận được lời khen riêng — điều này quan trọng với loại bánh cần giữ chất lượng khi vận chuyển.
Với Thao Dien — không thiếu quán brunch hay tiệm bánh phong cách châu Âu, nhưng lại hiếm nơi làm bánh mặn cầm tay ở đẳng cấp này — Mr. Pie lấp đầy một khoảng trống cụ thể và ít được đáp ứng. Với 4.9 sao từ 278 đánh giá, thật khó có gì để bác bỏ điều đó.

Thank you for keeping it affordable for locals even though it’s in a expat district. You’re doing God’s work. You’re making the world a better and brighter place with your pies.
Great place to grab a savoury snack - lots of pie varieties with flaky and yummy crust. Tastes like I’m in England or Australia I’m addicted! I ate here yesterday too 😝
The crust is perfectly crunchy while the inside stays moist. The flavor is nicely balanced between the meat and the crust. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. There are many interesting options on the menu. We’ll definitely be back to try more!
I was recommended this shop by a food delivery app. It was a surprise for me ‘cause I didn’t know there is somewhere in Thao Dien that serves Australian Pie. I had pie some times when I was visiting Australia, and this shop gave me a nostalgia feeling. I visited this shop on a Sunday morning, at the open hour. The location was small but they still managed to have some tables outside, a cozy sofa and some tables inside. With vintage decoration style inside the house. It was a little bit hot inside even though they had the air conditioner running. This was the only down side of this shop in my opinion. The upside was pies, of course. Pies were soft and crunchy. The juicy beef inside came along very well with the sauce. They also had detox water with citrus, thyme and some herbs, which gave the water a purple color. It looks like the owner is Korean but has a passionate love with Australian pie. The price is okay for a shop in Thao Dien. The portion is a little small for me but is appropriate for my friend. They also have frozen pies, so you can buy and heat it up conveniently at home. The drinks were also okay. In conclusion, it worth a try.
All pies here are amazing. Hot, crispy and super tasty. My boyfriend and I would come here every week. It’s pretty good even when being home delivered also as it would still be freshly hot and crispy. Highly recommend!
