Cà phê Yên nằm trong một căn nhà phố bình dị trên đường Nguyễn Đăng Giai, ngay đối diện khách sạn Amanaki — dễ đi qua mà không để ý, nhưng một khi đã bước vào thì khó lòng muốn rời sớm. Không gian bên trong mang vẻ mộc mạc có chủ ý: bàn ghế gỗ cũ, tường và kệ bày biện những chiếc máy ảnh phim cổ khiến nơi đây gợi cảm giác như phòng khách của một người sưu tầm đồ cổ hơn là một quán cà phê thương mại. Khu vực ngoài trời được bao bọc bởi cây xanh mở thêm không gian ngồi, và vào những buổi sáng se lạnh, nơi này thường quy tụ những người đến với sách hoặc laptop rồi ngồi mãi qua cả ly cà phê thứ hai.
Thực đơn đồ uống ở đây khá đơn giản, không rườm rà. Hot caramel latte là món được khách quen nhắc đến đều đặn nhất — cà phê được rang đủ cá tính để caramel trở thành phần tôn hương vị chứ không phải che lấp, và mùi thơm theo đó mà toả ra. Trà nhãn tươi bổ sung vào phần đồ uống không cà phê, dành cho ai thích thứ gì đó nhẹ hơn và có vị trái cây. Mức giá thấp hơn đáng kể so với các quán cùng phân khúc trong khu Thao Dien, khiến việc ngồi lâu trở nên thoải mái thay vì cảm giác xa xỉ.
Có một vài điều đáng lưu ý: không gian khá nhỏ, ghế gỗ và bàn thấp có thể không phù hợp với tất cả mọi người, và quán không có máy lạnh — điều này thực sự cần cân nhắc vào những buổi chiều nắng nóng đỉnh điểm. Giờ mở cửa (6:30 sáng đến 7 tối mỗi ngày) phù hợp hơn cho việc ghé buổi sáng và trưa thay vì tụ tập buổi tối. Điều Cà phê Yên có mà những quán lớn hơn, ồn ào hơn trong khu Thao Dien không có được là một nhịp sống thực sự chậm rãi — kiểu nơi mà âm thanh xung quanh chủ yếu là tiếng chim hót và nhân viên không thúc giục khách nhường chỗ. Với những cư dân trong khu muốn một ly cà phê sáng sớm yên tĩnh mà tránh được đông người cuối tuần, Cà phê Yên lấp đầy khoảng trống đó rất tốt.
One of the hidden gems in Thao Dien. The Cafe is just opposite Anamaki Thao Dien hotel. Walking into the cafe, you feel totally relax with rustic feel to it. Cafe atmosphere is decorated with old cameras, creating a unique feel to the place. Coffee is good and would recommend drinking the hot caramel latte. You can really smell the aroma of the coffee with the caramel. Perfect! A place where you can really sit all day and just letting the world go by.
Yen Cafe offers a wallet-friendly option in trendy Thao Dien. The shop is small in size with simple decor. Although the space is quiet, the wooden tables and chairs are a bit low, and the lack of AC might leave you feeling toasty. The drinks are decent, but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of flavour.
