Birthday burger bliss! We visited Relish and Sons for a birthday treat, and it definitely hit the spot! The atmosphere was casual yet cool—perfect for a laid-back celebration with seriously good food. I had the Sloppy Joe burger, which was packed with flavor and just the right amount of messy—exactly how a Sloppy Joe should be! The tater tots were golden and crispy, though they were more of a crispy shell with not much inside. Still, they paired nicely with the excellent range of house-made sauces—the tomato chilli relish was a standout, bursting with tangy, spicy goodness. My partner ordered the Wagyu burger, and it was a showstopper—juicy, rich, and cooked to perfection. The buns were soft, fresh, and held everything together without getting soggy, which is always a win. Service was friendly and fast, and the whole experience felt like a step above your typical burger joint. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving quality burgers with a gourmet twist.

Relish & Sons - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Relish & Sons occupies a straightforward niche in Thao Dien's crowded dining scene: serious burgers with better-than-average ingredients. The menu is built around flame-grilled patties sourced from Australian beef and, at the top end, full-blood wagyu served with truffled potato and chimichurri ranch on aged cheddar. The Iberico Smash Burger brings a less common cut — two pork patties on a potato bun with Swiss cheese and sweet dill radish — while the Reuben Cheese Burger stacks wagyu pastrami alongside Angus beef with Emmental and Gruyère. Almost every signature burger comes with a complimentary soft drink, which keeps the value proposition clear.
For those skipping meat, the Magic Mushroom uses a mushroom and pearl barley patty with pickled shiitake and pepper truffle sauce — one of the more carefully constructed vegan burgers in the neighbourhood. The Nashville Chicken Burger and the house-smoked hot dog round out a compact but deliberate menu that avoids overreach. Sliders of the classic and wagyu varieties let smaller appetites sample the lineup without committing to a full serve.
With 782 Google reviews averaging 4.3 stars and all-day hours from 11 AM to 10 PM every day of the week, Relish & Sons draws a mix of expats, local families, and the lunch crowd from nearby offices. It sits comfortably between the bare-minimum burger joints and the full sit-down steakhouses further into District 2 — a reliable address when the craving is specific and the appetite for novelty is low.
Reviews
Very tasty and flavorful burger, very juicy piece of meat. Every bite is a fun experience. I had the signature bbq burger with bacon. The bacon is surreal. Bbq sauce was fantastic. Should have added a fried egg, but that would make the burger super thick but juicy (messy in a good way at the same time). Very small venue, can host barely 10 people. But I love that small atmosphere. Very reasonable pricing, at 200k ($10) for a burger.
I was just looking for a simple burger nearby when I stumbled upon this place. I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. The burger of the month caught my eye—not just because of the price, but also because you could make it a combo with a drink and a salad. Thank you to Trin staff at the counter she recommended the burger of the month and offer me a combo. 5 star service! From the first bite, I was blown away. It tasted like the perfect mix of a juicy burger and a tender steak. The meat was incredibly flavorful, and the bun complemented it perfectly. Plus, the variety of sauces made it even better. I enjoyed it so much that I couldn’t resist ordering more to take home for dinner. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. I highly recommend it—this place is a must-try!
I highly recommend this place! One of the best burger I have ever had in VN👏
Wanted to try the Wagyu, but would rather spend that money on something else. I tried a Wagyu slider. I was warned it was small - that's an understatement. It's half-dollar coin size, maybe smaller... It was a "thick" chunk for a medallion piece of meat. The meat didn't taste like great Wagyu (even though it should all taste the same), but it wasn't bad - just expensive (95K/$3.75). Tried the Iberico Smash burger. It tasted slightly more like sausage than hamburger (if that's what it was). With the mustard on it, it tasted pretty good, but it is 200K ($7.95). With 8% VAT, my order was 318,600 ($12.65); it doesn't come with fries or anything. I might prefer Soul Burger, Burger Boss, Pingu's (out of the Thao Dien/D2 burger joints), but it's a decent burger, and neither of thouse were the best burger I've had in Vietnam so far. I did prefer this over the burgers I've had at Eddie's. No tables, just countertop window seats.
