The Story

About This Place

On a quieter stretch of Xuân Thủy in Thảo Điền, this spa has built a loyal base of expats and locals who treat it as a regular reset rather than a one-off visit. The value proposition is clear from the first booking: sauna and steam bath are included with every treatment, not sold as upgrades — a detail that gives the 550,000 VND one-hour Balinese massage a resort feel at a neighborhood price. Ninety-minute Balinese sessions, deep tissue work, and the source marine ritual facial round out the treatment menu.

The operational details are what sustain the repeat traffic. Secure lockers, separate locker rooms each with their own steam and sauna facilities, and a small hospitality touch — chilled tea, fresh juice, dried fruit — arrive without being asked. Front desk staff walk through the treatment menu and suggest options without upselling, which regulars note explicitly. Therapists follow specific instructions on pressure and focus areas rather than running a fixed sequence, a quality that shows up repeatedly across nearly 1,000 Google reviews averaging 4.5 stars.

The clientele skews toward working professionals and couples who come once or twice a month, particularly after long travel or demanding work weeks. Same-day appointments are sometimes available by calling in the morning, though evening slots and weekends fill quickly enough that advance booking is the safer approach. For Thảo Điền, a neighborhood with no shortage of wellness options at every price point, Mộc Tâm Spa holds its position through consistency and clean execution rather than novelty.

Had such a great experience with a one-hour Balinese massage (550k VND + 8% tax). The therapist was professional and balanced a gentle touch with a thorough technique perfectly. It’s best to book in advance; I called in the morning and luckily got a spot for that evening. I also loved that the ladies' locker room has a steam room and sauna—it was the perfect finish to the massage. Definitely coming back!

The worst service I received in Vietnam. My hotel arranged for me and my wife to have a 60-minute massage each. We arrived on time, went through the check-in process, the guy asked my wife if she wanted a male or female therapist, and she said female. Then we were taken inside, I was taken to the men's locker room to undress and change into a robe, and my wife to the women's area. When I came out, I was accompanied by a man. I asked him if he was the therapist, and the response was positive. I said They didn't bother to ask at the front desk, but I prefer a female therapist. The guy from the front desk came and claimed that the hotel booked for a man and a woman. I answered: True, I am the man and my wife is the woman, but you didn't ask me during the check-in process, and I prefer a female therapist. Then he came up with another answer: But you ordered a Thai massage. I answered: No, my wife is the Thai massage. I realized that there would be no positive solution here, I turned back to the locker room, got dressed, and went out to sit in the lobby. To my surprise, 5 minutes pass and my wife arrives dressed as well. We were both surprised, I asked what happened. She replied that she was already lying on a bed and suddenly her therapist claimed that there had been a mistake, got her up and moved her to another room, where another woman was already lying. That was enough for my wife and she too gave up on the massage and went back to the locker room to get dressed. As I said, I have never encountered such disrespectful service in Vietnam. There are so many other options for getting a great massage in Saigon, and the reception staff there behaves indifferently, with disdain and lack of regard for the customers who are already in his business, dressed in a robe and chose to get a massage there from all the other businesses. We left without any regard from the staff. It's a shame that the owner employs people like that, who are not even able to deal with a customer, listen to the customer, and maybe even try to find a solution. My recommendation: Take your money to another place that will appreciate the fact that you chose it.

My husband and I have been regular customers of Moc Huong Spa Thao Dien since we arrived in Vietnam in July 2024. They never fail to amaze us — every visit leaves us feeling relaxed and energized, especially after long days of work and stress. We usually come once or twice a month, and each time the experience is consistently excellent. The spa is very clean, with sauna and shower facilities available after the massage. The receptionists are always accommodating and hospitable, and the therapists are skilled and professional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality massage and relaxation in Ho Chi Minh City!

I walked out completely refreshed. Special thanks to Khoa at the front reception for the exceptional customization - everything was tailored to my needs.
