내돈내산 If you care about hygiene the way I do, I would highly recommend giving this place a try. I’m genuinely happy that this restaurant has opened here, as I no longer need to go far to another district just to enjoy Hu Tieu Nam Vang. I’ve been eating at Hong Phat for a long time, and I will continue to trust and support them in the future. I hope the restaurant maintains its quality and cleanliness, as these are the key reasons why not only I, but also health-conscious customers, will keep coming back again and again.

Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát (Hồng Phát Thảo Điền) - Southeast Asian restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát has earned Michelin recognition three consecutive years — a distinction that feels grounded the moment the bowl arrives. The specialty is hủ tiếu Nam Vang, the Phnom Penh-style rice noodle preparation that remains underrepresented in Thao Dien, available in both broth and dry versions. Portions run generous, the broth skews clean rather than heavily salted, and the option to add liver or heart reflects a kitchen comfortable with traditional southern Vietnamese technique.
Cleanliness is a recurring theme across hundreds of reviews, and the dining room delivers: a simple, well-maintained setup with well-spaced tables that keeps the atmosphere unhurried even during busy service. Staff move quickly and attentively, and there is enough English spoken to navigate dish recommendations for first-time visitors. Outdoor seating on the Xuân Thủy side tends to draw those who prefer better light and air — the interior is functional but dimmer.
The bánh bao has built its own following as the strongest in the immediate area, a claim backed by consistent mention across independent reviews. The drinks list includes a salted condensed milk coffee that pairs well with the savory noodles, alongside a honey-turmeric orange juice positioned as a restorative option.
Pricing sits above street-level — dishes in the 150,000–160,000 VND range — which reflects portion size and the Michelin association rather than any pretension in the setting. The clientele is a mix of expats living nearby and regulars who have tracked the restaurant from other locations. The kitchen opens at 7 AM, making this one of the more capable breakfast options in the neighborhood. The one consistent friction in an otherwise favorable record is the music volume, which runs loud for a space otherwise focused on calm.

Reviews
I just walked past this place and then came in. I’m so glad I did because I had the most delicious bowl of noodles with shrimp and pork wontons. This place is famous for its rice noodles in the style of Phnom Penh… I also had a drink that was orange juice with honey and turmeric… I decided to get something healthy because my throat was feeling a little sore, but it was also quite delicious!
Speedy service, large size portion (with a higher price than other places of course), tasty and not too salty like in some other places. Their bánh bao is especially good. Probably the best one can find in the area. Hú tiếu nam vang is also good. The only drawback is the somehow loud and not so great music
Their dishes wont disappoint you. The portion and flavors are great, quick service. My crispy noodle was $6,5, and the Hủ tiếu Nam Vang was $6. Definitely will come back to try other dishes. This is not a cheap eat.
This is a Michelin recommended restaurant located in D2 of Saigon. This restaurant has an extensive menu but their specialty is the Hieu Tieu. I got the dried version and my friend got the soup version. Finished my meal off with a salted condense milk coffee. Would definitely recommend. This place reminds me of the restraurant I frequent back in Houston.
