The Story

About This Place

Con Voi operates without a printed menu — bartenders take a brief on the guest's preferred flavor profile and build from there. That approach alone separates it from the standard Thao Dien bar circuit, where most places hand over a laminated list and call it craft. The bar at 44 Ngô Quang Huy splits between an intimate interior, where Studio Ghibli films play on screen, and an outdoor section that catches the quieter end of the street.

The drinks lean inventive and precise. A recurring highlight is a combination of Creyente mezcal, mango juice, and homemade rum finished with chilli salt — a build that reads playful but lands with balance. The smoky negroni draws dedicated return visits; regulars credit the bartender's twist on the formula as what sets it apart from the version most Saigon bars produce. One guest singled it out as superior to comparable offerings at well-known venues across the city.

The bartending team — anchored by a returning veteran described by regulars as a flavour master — has cultivated a following among guests who care about what is actually in the glass. Service is attentive but restrained: the team explains the build without performing it, and gives guests who prefer silence the space to drink quietly. Solo drinkers and self-described introverts feature prominently in the reviews, which suggests a bar that has worked out how to run an atmospheric space without being loud about it.

Low-fi music and Ghibli on the screen keep the interior grounded. The bar opens at 5:30 PM and runs to 1 AM six nights a week, closed Tuesdays, positioning it as a late-night destination rather than an after-dinner stop. Smoking is permitted indoors, which some guests note as a downside. For those who find rigid menus limiting, it offers something few Thao Dien bars can match.

the best cocktail i've ever had. i don't like the taste of alcohol but i really enjoyed this drink. they don't have a set menu so you tell the bartender what you want customize your drink based on that. every drinks are unique. i love their concept. i lowkey preferred my friend's drink which had gin, melon, and cucumber. but overall a great experience.

Long time no visit Con Voi but the vibe is still chic. We love to be here on a late night. Stay inside if you are introvert coz they have Ghibli anime to cheer you up with tasty drink. Our favourite bartender is back in the game so we came here. There is no menu but the quality is guaranteed since he is the flavour master. I had Creyente mezcal, mango juice with his homemade rum with chilli-infused combined perfectly with some shrimp salt. It definitely beats Tran Hung Dao drink at the Racha Room. It was so good that I had two 🥹🥹. My partner had Nordes gin with elderflower and some cucumber note to his taste. He had Paper Plane as his second drink. I had Amaretto Sour as my all-time favourite, of course made with Luxardo amaretto. My partner had Poet’s dream to end the night. It was gin with dry vermouth and benedictine. Of course I had my mezcal drink as the third.
