The Story

About This Place

Bama Kids Cafe occupies a fourth-floor space above a hair salon on Thái Ly, a quieter stretch of Thảo Điền that draws expat and local families with children in the infant-to-toddler range. The play area is generously sized, with a dedicated padded section for babies who are crawling or just beginning to pull themselves upright — a detail regulars with children under 18 months particularly appreciate. Toys are kept in good condition and free of the broken or faded equipment common in higher-traffic play spaces around the city.

Staff maintain an active presence: tidying continuously, engaging with younger children, and keeping the atmosphere measured enough that parents can actually settle in. Day beds are available for adults — an uncommon feature that makes longer visits practical, especially for those with infants who need a rest mid-session. The café side serves coffee and simple food; the banana peanut butter smoothie is a recurring mention from established regulars. Pricing sits in line with comparable kids-focused venues in the district.

For frequent visitors, a 20-hour block package delivers real savings. The venue draws a consistent weekday crowd of parent groups who prefer the quieter pace; weekend afternoons see more traffic but rarely reach the density of larger, centrally located play cafés. Wednesday is the one closed day each week. The recommended age window — roughly six months to three years — sets it apart from multi-age venues; older children will find the space limiting, but for that specific demographic Bama holds a strong reputation as one of the more reliably calm and well-run options in Thảo Điền.

Great kids cafe probably better for kids under 3yo. Food is good, coffee is nice and service is excellent. The place is clean and certainly the most comfortable for parents with the day beds.

Bama provides a spacious, clean and safe space for our little ones to explore and play. The staff are mostly friendly and kind. My baby thoroughly enjoys his time there. There is ample space for him to crawl and cruise safely. Can’t wait for him to start walking and running there. Thank you Bama 🤩
