이 장소에 대해

Kocha Matcha Spot occupies a compact space on Trần Ngọc Diện, drawing a steady crowd of matcha drinkers who care about what goes into the cup. The layout splits between an indoor bar counter — where staff prepare drinks in full view — and a handful of outdoor tables shaded enough to linger over a hojicha. Capacity caps around 30 inside, which means Saturday afternoons fill up fast and the atmosphere tips from calm to lively depending on timing. Weekday mornings lean quieter.

The matcha itself is the main draw. Staff recommend the Basic Matcha Latte as the entry point, and regulars note it delivers a smooth, well-balanced cup without the bitterness that comes from lower-grade powder. The kitchen uses Meiji milk, and the proportion of matcha to milk reads as deliberate rather than diluted. For groups wanting a spectacle, the 2L giant matcha latte is available and reportedly difficult for four people to finish. Desserts on the menu skew lightly sweet, calibrated to sit alongside rather than compete with the drinks.

The Japanese aesthetic carries through indoors — minimalist decor, clean lines, no visual clutter. Ordering runs through a QR code at each table with payment collected on delivery, which keeps foot traffic to the counter low. Service has drawn mixed notes in busier periods, with some guests reporting slow turnaround when the room fills. The Thao Dien stretch it sits on has no shortage of cafes, but few narrow their focus this deliberately to matcha as a category rather than as a menu addition.

Nice cozy place. Minimalistic decor. Constant flow of customers on a Saturday evening. We got the 2L giant matcha latte cup to try and the affogato. It was decent given they seem to use high grade matcha and Meiji milk. Too big of a portion for 4 to finish. Their regular sized matcha are quite nice also. Icecream affogato is acceptable but not really special or stands out.

The cafe has a Japanese vibe in and out. Inside, they have tables and bar, where they make the matcha drink in front of the customers. There are outdoor tables too. The space is not so big. Probably can cater 30ish guests inside. When I came, it was a Saturday close to lunch time. The cafe was packed and a bit noisy with crying baby or kids banging on the window backsound. I'm not sure if weekday is less packed. I asked what was the recommended menu, the cashier said Basic Matcha Latte. So I went with that, with 50% sugar, and fresh milk (Meiji) for 89k VND (as of Sept 25). To me, my drink doesn't have much difference with several other matcha served in some cafes I went to in HCM, even in VT. Safe to say, good matcha drink price I have been having in HCM is around 70k VND and above. Is the drink decent? Yes Will I purposely revisit the store? Most likely no
