Their signature Chả Cá Lã Vọng is fragrant and delicious, and the shrimp paste dipping sauce is perfectly mixed and very well balanced. Other dishes are also tasty and comforting. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly, and quick to assist, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable💕

Tucked inside the mall (so no need to worry about muddy riverbanks), it’s got everything from hotpot, grilled fish, fried wings, to the legendary chả cá Lã Vọng style skillet that comes sizzling with heaps of dill and green onions. Warning: your table will look like a mini jungle in five minutes. 🌿🐟 Parking 🚗: Super convenient — basement mall parking. Just follow the crowd of hungry families and you’ll find your way. Bonus: no need to fight for street spots or argue with security guards, your car will be safe while you feast. Menu 📖: Wide variety of fish dishes — hotpot, grilled, fried, and of course cháo (porridge). Noodles, veggies, spring rolls, crispy rice crackers… basically, if it swims or goes well with rice noodles, it’s on the menu. Portions are generous, so come with friends (or just bring your “hungry mode” self). Vibe 🍲: Casual, lively, and perfect for groups. Tables can fill up with more dishes than you thought humanly possible, so bring stretchy pants. Staff keep things moving quickly, and the reserved sign for our group made us feel like VIPs (shout-out to “Sếp Bình 10 pax” 😂). Chao Ca at Vincom offers a nice variety of Vietnamese dishes, and my wife and I were excited to give it a try. We visited twice to get a better feel for the food and here’s our take: The service was friendly and attentive. Staff spoke English and made an effort to help, though the food came out slower than expected, even considering that we ordered some fried items. First visit: We sampled a few appetizers of spring rolls, summer rolls, and chicken wings. Unfortunately, none stood out. The summer rolls were mostly filled with rice noodles, the spring rolls lacked meat in the filling. The chicken wings were the best of the bunch, but they were overly oily. Interestingly, my wife writes food reviews and was invited back by the restaurant to try their food again. We appreciated the gesture and returned for a second meal. Second visit: We ordered bún bò huế and bún riêu. The bún bò came with fish balls, which felt out of place given how often we’ve had this dish. The broth was overly salty and tasted like it had been boiling too long without proper adjustment. My wife’s bún riêu was on the other end of the spectrum and was bland and underwhelming. Unfortunately, both of us experienced upset stomachs later that night—likely from the food. Overall: 3.0 Chao Ca has good service and could be a decent spot for a group meal, but the food itself was mid-tier at best. This is an ok spot if you’re at the mall and want a convenient bite but there are better Vietnamese options (duh) right outside.
