Be Nuts는 카운터 근처의 그래놀라 진열대를 중심으로 자리를 잡았다 — 주방이 무엇을 우선시하는지를 한눈에 드러내는 신호다. 직접 만든 그래놀라는 스무디 볼(토핑 포함 95,000 VND)에 올려져 홈메이드 무가당 요거트 위에 겹겹이 담기며, 봉지째 테이크아웃도 가능하다. 아침 메뉴는 더 폭넓어서, 오리고기 크루아상 샌드위치(120,000 VND)와 연어를 곁들인 아보카도 토스트도 선택할 수 있다. 에스프레소와 신선한 주스는 모두 55,000 VND — Thảo Điền 일대의 비슷한 카페들보다 낮은 가격임에도 품질에 타협한 흔적이 없다. 유제품 대체 음료도 갖춰져 있어, 식이 제한이 있는 손님들이 믿고 재방문하는 공간이 됐다.
체스는 인테리어 소품이 아닌 실질적인 문화다. 테이블마다 체스판이 놓여 있고, 단골들은 순전히 체스를 두기 위해 찾아온다. 덕분에 Xuân Thủy 일대에 늘어선 노트북 친화적 카페들과는 구별되는 두 번째 정체성을 갖게 됐다. 와이파이는 안정적이고 자리 눈치를 볼 필요가 없으며, 일요일 오후에는 혼자 일하거나 둘이 온 손님이 층 전체를 독차지할 수 있을 만큼 한산하다고 알려져 있다. 공간 자체는 단순하다 — 실내 좌석, 특별한 인테리어 콘셉트 없음 — 이곳을 찾는 손님층과 꼭 맞는 분위기다. 걸어올 수 있는 거리에 거주하는 외국인과 현지 주민, 건강한 아침 식사를 즐기는 단골, 그리고 이곳을 캐주얼 클럽처럼 드나드는 체스 플레이어들이 주를 이룬다.
매일 오전 7시 30분에 문을 여는 덕분에 인근 대부분의 카페보다 일찍 주방이 돌아간다. Thao Dien에서 아침 시간을 보내며 그래놀라 볼과 55,000 VND짜리 라테를 즐기고, 예약이나 별도 요금 없이 체스 한 판을 두고 싶은 이들에게 — Be Nuts는 이 지역에서 거의 아무도 채우려 하지 않았던 특정한 틈새를 정확히 파고드는 카페다.
Wonderful place for breakfast! The smoothie bowls were great, though it would be even better with a bit more granola. The avocado toast was delicious. I ordered it with salmon and expected smoked salmon, but it was cooked instead — still tasty, though it had some bones.
Delivery review. Upon delivery, noticed missing coffee, fruit, and jam in the order. Staff efficiently resolved the issue, and I eventually received the whole order after another 15 to 20 minutes. My only gripe would really be the size of the bowl. I did order the large size, and it was still quite small. Quality of food was excellent though. Lovely unsweetened homemade yoghurt, very nice fresh fruit, and quality tasting nuts. Smoothie was a good taste, and coffee was surpringly good for the price. Update: bad experience with missing additional free yoghurt cup 2 days running, where it's written in the grab app but not triggered or delivered. Owner made a ridiculous excuse that they hadn't prepared enough yoghurt!!! Really??? But you prepared enough for the actual bowls??? Ridiculous and therefore I do not recommend. Go to Pure bowls instead, just a little further up the road in Thao Dien.

This is my absolute favourite place in Ho Chi Minh City❤️!! Amazing and very kind staff and owner❤️ Delicious food and drinks that have dairy alternatives. And what keeps me coming back over and over is the cozy, welcoming, and chess-oriented atmosphere!!! It is so fun here!!! I want to stay in Vietnam for longer just so I could keep coming back here!!
Excellent smoothie bowl here. A decent portion too and 95k is ok for the area. Nice space to sit inside too, looks like a popular place to play chess.
