I was drawn to this place because of the delicious looking breakfast food they have in their photos, but unfortunately no food, only pastries. It's important to note that they only have a chef on weekends, not during the week. Despite that, it's a beautiful cafe, and the French pastries we beautiful ans good, and it was a relaxing environment.

Saint Honoré Saigon - Bakery in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Saint Honoré Saigon sits on Tống Hữu Định in Thảo Điền, drawing a steady stream of expats and neighborhood regulars to its French pastry counter. The croissants have earned genuine devotion—properly laminated, cited by more than one regular as the best in Vietnam—alongside a pâté pastry that tends to disappear early, plus pain au chocolat, éclairs au chocolat, tiramisu, and tarts that fill the display case daily.
The space divides between a shaded outdoor terrace and a compact glass-enclosed room, the latter bright but acoustically lively when occupied. Morning is when the café operates at its strongest: the 7 AM opening draws early risers, and the pastry selection is freshest in the first couple of hours. Visitors after a proper sit-down meal with hot food need to plan around the weekend schedule—a chef is on site Saturdays and Sundays to run the fuller à la carte menu, which includes dishes like a fricassée. On weekdays the kitchen is cold and the offering is pastries only, a point that catches first-timers off guard given how the photos read.
Open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM, the café pulls in a mix of Thảo Điền residents and visitors looking for somewhere to slow down over coffee and a pastry without the noise of the main strip. At 4.2 stars across 249 Google reviews the sentiment leans positive, though a handful of returning visitors note that consistency has not always matched earlier years. For those arriving with pastries as the goal—particularly on a weekend morning—the counter competes with anything else in the neighborhood on French viennoiserie.

Best croissant that I have had in vietnam. Loved the pate pastry too. Staff was efficient and friendly
Maybe I should have stopped coming since the last time I was here 2 years ago. First time was in 2018 and I love it. But standards have gone down and this time in Jun23, its a sad sad reflection of what it once used to be. As is in life I guess. Was fit, now unfit. Was handsome, now bald and handsome. If I stopped coming, my first memory of this place would have stayed as it was - good food, good coffee, good croissant etc... But now the coffee is just coffee-flavoured milk, the croissant is super oily, the scrambled eggs are so so. I've had better in cheaper and more local offerings. Bye Saint Honore, I'll store you in the memories from 2018 and delete all other visits to your restaurant and I'm not coming back. I'm not angry. I'm just sad.
Bought this pack last night May 19 and this morning when i opened and it is on the way to moldy rotten paradise with growing green mold...Contacted them just to receive a message saying oh, sorry for the inconvenience, the date is still May 20, which is today and that I should keep it in the right temperature. No its not just inconvenience man and Guess my fridge is right temperature for bread no. Then they asked me to bring it to the shop for them to change, and when I suggested them to just refund back the money to my bank account and then it’s an absolute silence. Bye St Honore, not the first time I accidentally bought a rotten product here but def the last. Bad service with worst response ever too.
Saint Honoré, what else? Happened to try this place as suggested by a friend. Pastries are really delicious (from Tiramisu ..to Eclair au chocolat or Tart). A la carte food is also mouthwatering although I've prefer a bit deeper taste for the fricassé. Overall great lunch experience. Recommended
