The restaurant's interior design follows the concept of a casual street food stall in South Korea. From my personal taste, it was relatively good, but not particularly impressive.

KUKJEDON 국제돈 - Korean restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
KUKJEDON sits on Nguyen Cu in Thao Dien and runs its kitchen until 1 AM every day of the week — a rarity in a neighborhood where most kitchens close well before midnight. The interior channels the look of a casual South Korean street food stall: low-key materials, no-frills seating, and a focus on the grill rather than the décor. That framing sets expectations accurately. This is a place that draws expats and locals who want proper Korean BBQ without the upscale pricing that defines some of the more polished Korean spots elsewhere in the city.
The pork belly is the anchor dish. Reviews consistently describe the fat-to-lean ratio as precise — the kind of balance that comes from sourcing and prep rather than luck. It arrives at the table fresh, and the char develops quickly over the tabletop grill. The banchan spread earns its own praise: several small side dishes that reviewers describe as both generous in quantity and well-executed in flavor. For a restaurant in this segment, that level of banchan consistency stands out.
The trade-off, noted in a handful of reviews, is that meat portions can feel modest relative to the price, and service during busy periods tends toward rushed rather than attentive. Parking on Nguyen Cu is limited — the overflow arrangement with a nearby lot has caused friction for some guests. Neither issue has dented the overall score significantly, which suggests the food quality carries the experience for most.
The 4 PM opening and 1 AM closing makes KUKJEDON one of the more logical choices in Thao Dien for a Korean dinner that starts late or runs long into the evening.
Reviews
The most delicious Korean BBQ in this price range and even when compared with other places with higher prices.
good food good service good atmosphere
Food: While the banchan was super good and generous, the meat itself (which I believe is the main reason we'd go to a bbq) is in tiny portion for their pricing Service: Staff was inattentive and always in a rush. Also, the bike parking was full so we were instructed to park in HAGL instead. In the end, we had to pay for parking ourselves, which is not acceptable for a restaurant this price range Space: Quite nice and reminds me of authentic korean restaurant. However, the WC was very nasty.
Pork belly is served fresh, with just the right balance of fat and lean meat, making every bite melt in your mouth
