The Story

About This Place

Korean restaurants are plentiful in Thao Dien, but few dedicate half their floor space to a children's playground. At Guzzim, on Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, that trade-off has paid off: parents settle in while children disappear into the play area, producing a meal where adults can actually finish a plate without interruption — a rarer outcome than it sounds in this neighborhood.

The food holds its own beyond the kid-friendly framing. Tables arrive with six to eight kinds of banchan alongside complimentary bowls of rice, a generosity that signals kitchen confidence rather than budget padding. The tteokbokki runs properly spicy, the fried rice draws consistent praise across reviews, and grilled chicken feet are on the menu for those who want something beyond the crowd-pleasers. A chicken stew with noodles rounds out the comfort-focused options.

Kids' sets are available, and every table receives free ice cream at the end of the meal — details that suggest the kitchen has thought through the full family experience rather than simply tolerating younger diners. The bill for five people comes to around 800,000 VND, putting it firmly in the accessible range for a Thao Dien sit-down dinner.

The setting is clean, portions are generous without being precious about presentation, and the service earns consistent notes in reviews for being friendly. For expat families and local residents with young children who find much of Thao Dien's dining either too upscale or too cramped for a toddler, Guzzim occupies a practical and well-executed spot on the street.
