D’Carmela Pizza & Pasta - Pizza restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Delivery review. Very nice vegan mushroom pasta dish, soft and comforting with a good background flavour. Tuna footlong was ok - quite sloppy and mayonnaise heavy but a huge quantity (3 of those, I just took a picture of one). I see reviews suggesting that the bread is similar to Subway, no it's not. Nothing even remotely similar to any of their various subs. It's ok, better than traditional banh mi bread but a long way from the highs of decent sourdough. If you still want to try real Subway bread, you're s.o.l. as the last one, in Da Nang, also closed in 2023. I digress - this was pretty good and I would recommend.

This was the worst experience ordering pasta in my w years in Ho Chi Minh order there bolognese through Grab with extra sauce can with barely anything on the pasta a little tomato sauce hardly any meat at all horrible so many good Italian restaurants in Ho Chi Minh I regret trying this place suggest you order from somewhere else it’s clearly not run by an Italian! Also called to complain and messaged and no action!

Wow the pizza was delicious Staff were so friendly and the puppy was the cutest staff member of all Great place to come hang out with friends and share a meal.

I wanted to seek out and support a small local business and this was just it! The place is run by a lovely young couple, originally as delivery only, then for the past 3 months as a tiny cozy sit-down with only 2 tables. The food was fantastic! Great pizza dough with crispy edges. Proper carbonara sauce with a whole egg yolk. Pesto pizza base is incredibly aromatic. Their Subway was inspired by an Australian relative. We were too full to try this but it does look amazing on the menu as well. And we got to play with Bun, their 6 month old doggo. She is one easily excitable puppy!

Duke, Emma and Baby Boo (baby pug) were an awesome team serving great pizza( Baby Boo sits inside on the sideline). The crust is wonderful. Soft, light crisp and authentic with brick oven natural flavor all through the crust. I ordered vegan options; the Margarita and Tomato/Olives. The cashew cheese is very flavorful and the large size filled each of us (hint, order Large 😉). This is a small yet cozy establishment. Comfortable and quaint. I enjoyed a wonderful and most educational conversation with Duke who taught me all about the traditions of Tet (Lunar New Year) while I was here. I'm sure if you're curious about anything in Vietnam he is more than willing to offer what he knows. 🙂 This business is delicious and personable.
