I've been studying with Street Vietnamese for 1 year and I can't recommend it and Thien enough. Thien is an excellent teacher! The classes are always enjoyable and something I genuinely look forward to each week. He's very flexible with scheduling and does a good job of balancing the course content with things I'm personally interested in learning. As well as teaching Vietnamese, he's taught me a lot about Vietnamese history and culture, which is something I've loved learning! When my parents came to visit, he took us on a tour around District 1, and he's even taken me to see a Vietnamese war film as part of a Street Vietnamese lesson. The street lessons are a great way to learn because you're using Vietnamese in real-life situations rather than just sitting in a classroom. It's helped me become more confident speaking and understanding the language. If you're thinking about learning Vietnamese, I'd definitely recommend Street Vietnamese. It's been one of the highlights of my time living in Vietnam.

Street Vietnamese is a really great place to learn Vietnamese! I chose Street Vietnamese because it was near my place but after moving district, I still kept Street Vietnamese to keep working with my teacher Tân/Leo. Both online and offline lessons are efficient! Tân is always flexible and adapt really well to my forever changing schedule, which is really appreciable 🥹

Khang is a great teacher and super patient. Before, I could understand some Vietnamese but I couldn’t really speak. After finishing the 20-hour course, I can actually talk a lot more confidently now, which made me start speaking Vietnamese with more people without worrying as much. I’m honestly having a lot more fun with it now. One of the biggest things for me is that I can finally talk to my family in Vietnamese, which means a lot. He also helped me a ton with my pronunciation, which I really needed. I can read a little now too. Writing still needs work, but that’ll just take more time. He also made every lesson fun and easy to follow, and was always understanding whenever I had to change class times. I really appreciate everything and definitely recommend him if you’re trying to learn Vietnamese.

I’ve had a lovely experience learning Vietnamese as an American English teacher living in Saigon. I’ve improved so much since I started learning with my teacher Khang. He is able to go beyond just vocabulary and grammar and teach more intricate and cultural aspects. Street Vietnamese has given me a place to feel integrated into Saigon and Vietnam.
