Great ambience, food & service. We had our dinner there 2 nights in a row! Special thanks to Grace for making it a wonderful dining experience for us!

XVI. - Restaurant in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
XVI. sits on Nguyễn Văn Hưởng with an interior that earns its reputation before a dish arrives: crystal chandeliers above graffiti murals, velvet chairs, cloth napkins, and brass flatware. The contrast between classic European elegance and street-art energy is deliberate, and the combination draws a crowd that tends to linger — multiple guests report arriving for a quick dinner and staying three hours.
The menu covers European comfort food with Latin American touches and some Vietnamese-influenced options. The clam linguine stands out for its sauce, which is neither tomato- nor cream-based but earns consistent praise on its own terms. Burrata with fresh tomatoes and pesto and a generous cold cut platter anchor the starter list, while small-format pizza, beef bolognese, arancini, and a burger appear across positive reviews. The drinks program is a genuine strength: the Hazelnut Sour has been called out by name, cocktails arrive well-crafted, and the mocktail selection holds up alongside them. Decaf coffee is on the menu — a practical detail that is rarer in Thao Dien than expected.
Service is attentive and consistent: staff check tables regularly, accommodate young children, and welcome dogs with apparent enthusiasm. The indoor-outdoor layout and comfortable seating make XVI. work across different moods — a focused working lunch, a slow brunch, or a late dinner that stretches into the evening. Hours run 8 AM to 10 PM every day of the week.
In a neighborhood with strong competition in cafes and Vietnamese staples, XVI. is one of the few Thao Dien spots where a well-considered bar program and European kitchen sit on the same menu without either feeling secondary.
Reviews
A really nice place. We came yesterday for a quick dinner but ended up staying for three hours. Beautiful décor, excellent food, super friendly staff, and a great cocktail selection. Definitely worth coming back.
We had a nice Sunday dinner at XVI. The menu is nice, the atmosphere is great with indoor-outdoor dining and service was really top, so attentionate with our 2 year old. The food was good but things like the sauce for the arancini and wings could be better (felt store bought), give it some flair with fresh ingredients! Loved the small size of pizza, burata salad and the beef bolognese. The Hazelnut Sour drink was fantastic!! 😍 Looking forward to trying the place for all-day brunch.
I first discovered XVI by chance while having coffee with a friend, and I came back for the second time because I was really impressed by the space and the chill vibe of the restaurant. The food is truly diverse and healthy, with Vietnamese, European, and Latin American options. The drinks are also visually appealing and pair well with the food. Another thing that stood out is the view — perfect for working, chatting, or simply enjoying some quiet time in a very comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend!
My friend and I had dinner at this fabulous place about a week ago. I live close by so I happen to see this newly opened restaurant every day. I am fascinated by its interior design and the sophisticated vibe it exudes. The staff are very friendly and accommodating! Their service is commendable as they check on us from time to time especially about the food that we ordered. My friend ordered pasta and I had burger. It was really good and I look forward to coming back and trying other delicious food on the menu. 💖 I am not a matcha lover but I enjoyed the coconut matcha drink. It was very refreshing!
