The Story

About This Place

The Brownie by Tia occupies a quiet corner on Đường số 54 in Thảo Điền, drawing regulars who return for its dense brownies and some of the best burnt basque cheesecake in the neighborhood. The space leans into vintage aesthetics — antique touches and a calm that makes it easy to lose an hour over a laptop or a slow conversation.

The Korean owner runs the shop with a warmth that shows up in small gestures: offering cookies to toddlers, lending a raincoat to customers caught in the rain. Kongbob, the resident poodle, adds to the mood without being intrusive. Drinks are calibrated to complement rather than compete — lattes land on the less-sweet side, and fresh juices come without added sugar, a deliberate contrast to the richness of the desserts.

The brownie lineup is the main draw: the dark chocolate walnut brownie holds its ground, the red velvet cream cheese brownie has its own following among regulars, and the brownie-with-ice-cream combo earns consistent mentions. The burnt basque cheesecake and earl grey cheesecake round out a short but focused dessert menu. Pricing leans toward the higher end for Thảo Điền, and each guest is expected to order at least one drink — something to weigh if the desserts are the only reason for the visit.

The crowd skews toward solo workers on weekday afternoons and small groups on weekends. It sits away from the district's busier café strips, better suited to someone after a slower pace. Staff consistency has varied across reviews, but the physical space and the desserts remain the consistent pull.

I really loved this shop in Thảo Điền. The shop is nice and cozy. They serve a wide range of of sweets from cookies, brownies, burnt basque cheesecake. Personally, i love the brownie served with ice cream and ealgrey cheesecake the most. This place has the best cheesecake out of all shops i have tried. The matcha latte is also very good. Moreover, you can meet kongbob the poodle, he is very friendly and lovely

It’s a quiet and peaceful café with a vintage atmosphere, perfect for getting work done. It’s a go-to spot for brownies in Thao Dien. I especially love their red velvet cream cheese brownie and dark chocolate brownie. However, it is on the pricier side if you’re going alone. I can’t take advantage of the brownie combo on weekdays because I can’t drink coffee.

Korean owner is a very friendly lady with impeccable service, saw that we had a toddler and offered a cookie. It was raining heavily and even offered us her raincoat for us to get home. Though we bought all the flavours to try, our favourites are the burnt basque cheesecake and dark chocolate walnut brownie. Lovely space and vintage vibes, perfect to spend your time chilling with friends or spending time alone here away from the bustling life.

This is a quiet little coffee shop that has a chill and antique vibe. I love that their juices are no sugar & their latte is not sweet, so they go well with the sweet treats like brownies & red velvet. The owner is Korean but she speaks English well, so communication isn’t a problem. One negative point is that each customer has to order at least one drink. A lot of the times, I come here for the dessert, so that requirement has sent me somewhere else. One drink and one dessert can be a bit much if you’ve already had a big meal beforehand. Overall it’s a lovely coffee shop if you don’t mind the drink requirement.
